I didn't realize I hadn't read this. Honestly, I wish this had been part of the RoTK universe. It's sad, yes. But it feels so real that I wanted it to be a part of your wonderful series.

Thank you so much.
I couldn't bear to do this to Tindómë's twins, although I did think about it. And so in her world there is still the worry about whether they will sail, or stay in Imladris and she'll never see them again. Which will become a bigger worry as time goes by.

Thank you so much - I think it is probably one of the best things I have written - although I always feel that I ought to apologise for upsetting the readers...
It was the hardest chapter to write. The idea of Arwen not knowing how to die at will as she had expected, like Aragorn, has been in my mind for one of the Returnverse stories to come - but it seemed to fit so well into this one.

Review:
This was beautiful and touching. Sorry to take so long to review. Life kind of got in the way as I lost my own dad and had to go home for the funeral.
Thank you

I am so sorry to hear about your dad - I can see that this must have been quite difficult reading, under the circumstances. Thank you so much for reviewing it.

Thank you - I so am glad that you liked it - even though it was a bit of a tear-jerker.

I know I;m usually your fastest commenter, reading the story as soon as I get the update, but I had to take some time before reading this chapter. Because of the recent death in my family, this was a very hard story to read, but it's very beautiful, and I eagerly anticipate the next chapter.

I am so sorry about your family bereavement. I am glad that you felt you could read this and leave such positive comments despite that. I hope to post the final chapter tonight - if not then it will be tomorrow. You may still need your handkerchief, but I promise there is hope at the end.
I have to say that of all the LOTR writers on this site you capture the feelings and ambience of events up to and after Elessar's death the best. Your story evokes Tolkien beautifully.

Oh - thank you so much! What a lovely compliment - I want to dance you around with joy now; which is quite unsuitable at such a point in the story, really...

I love your writing, it's very evocative. Thank you for sharing this, I'm looking forward to reading the rest!
P.S. Peredhil is the plural of peredhel.
Comments from author:
Thank you so much - the third and final chapter should be ready to post before the end of the week - it just needs my beta to get over his night shifts.
Yes - the plural of peredhel is odd as it isn't quite formed the same way as that of ellon or elleth - as the usual convention is for them to form the plural by the use of a 'y'. In this particular instance it didn't really matter whether it was in the plural or the singular as he was referring to himself - which is why my beta let it by...
