This looks like a really good story. I was 'wandering' through the HP fics and found your story. I am only concerned that it hasn't been updated in some time. Is it posted elsewhere, or can I offer cookies to continue this?
Comments from author:
It is also on ff.net, but it stops at the same point. The problem is I was sucked into a different fandom and don't have the right muses to finish this and my other open WIPs. I don't want to write a conclusion just to complete them when I wouldn't be happy with the results. So, it stands as unfinished but will hopefully be continued once I find the right muses again

I'm a Severus fan and only recently started with the Buffy/Angel series (I blame my 13 year old daughter for it, SHE'S a Spike fan). I really like your fic, I look forward to more.
Severus at a school for the gifted is good, and like other reviewers I can see how he will probably now be happier with his life and probably not join Voldie. The prophecy will come to pass, regardless if Severus is the one to tell Voldie or not, so no big there.
I can just imagine when Headmistress Valara arrives at Hogwarts, they will recommend James, Sirius and Remus for her school and the boys will not have what it takes to get in and when she asks why Severus wasn't recommended, everyone will be 'he's a Slytherin, they're evil'. That's why Slughorn didn't 'collect' Sev. He's from a poor family, and not popular, Slughorn would much rather have the rich, popular and handsome students. (Can't say I like Albus or Slughorn much).
Hope to see an update soon.

Thank you for your review. I know I'm taking my bloody time but the next chapter will come and Headmistress Valara will have a few choice words. And the Marauders will be adressed as well. As for the lacking recommendation for Severus, I can't imagine they would say it like that. This Slytherin thing is purely a Hogwarts and Britain thing, they can't expect Valara to understand this strange bias. Didn't Slughorn collect Severus despite his family together with Lily because of their talent? I'm unsure if my memory is cannon or fannon in this.

good and very interesting start but i worry as spike is still a vampire. i'm thinking about hermione when i read about this school you created. can wait to hear the headmistress talk with albus (sorry i tend to dislike him).
Comments from author:
I can assure you I'm not a fan of Dumbledore myself. I don't belong to the types that portray him as more evil than Voldemort, but I still see him as a cool manipulator bend on doing things his way. There is a lot of time before I have to think about what to do with Hermione, in this story she isn't even born yet
Great twist on the Spike-coming-from-a-wizarding-family plot. Most of these have Spike in the Malfoy family tree, so I was pleased to see Spike in the Prince family tree. I enjoyed the chapters you have up and I look forward to more. With Spike determined not to go back to Dru, well...that just gives him more time to focus on the family and the wizarding world.
Comments from author:
Yes, it will certainly give Spike time for himself and for organizing his family new. I'm undecided if he gets a girlfriend or not but he will not get back together with Drusilla

Ah, this chapter was a prelude. Well you did load a lot of chapters in one day...but kind of cliffy (cliffhanger) here.
Word error, possibly from the spell checker:
You wrote - The nearly white hear gave him an ethereal look
his hair is white, right?
Thanks for sharing the tale! Looking forward to seeing where you take this.
Comments from author:
The hair (!) is corrected.
To be honest, I didn't write the chapters in one day. This story sits on my PC and I write when I am in writing mood. I put it online to get more pressure to write more (I already have the start of Chapter 6). So the next chapters will need more time.

Lovely. The HP books start with Hogwarts as the idea boarding school and society for children... only it is not for all children. Good extrapolation from the sub-genre into this tale.
Comments from author:
Hm, when I read the books I certainly didn't think Hogwarts to be ideal for children. It sounded more like a mad house to me with the biggest nutter being the Headmaster. For a solitary introspective pupil who enjoyed knowledge and didn't really understand his peers Hogwarts would be disastrous.

The changes I can see from this Point of Divergence are:
1) Severus will be a very different person. As a happier and more successful person with a life in Europe not just the UK he won't be joining the Death Eaters. He won't pass on a partial prophecy to Mouldyshorts, perhaps no one will and the war will go differently.
More changes will follow than that, to Severus and his family.
2) Dumbledore will get something of a dressing down for not bothering to pass on Snape to the specialist school as he was apparently supposed to. This may or may not have long term effects, and these could be minor and short lived or cost him the headmaster position for failing in an important academic duty. If he loses that position he would have both more time to devote to the war and a personal need to vindicate himself in the eyes of his peers and the public.
Images of Dumbledore striding through a battlefield firing off curses of such power that Death Eaters are exploding spraying blood and bone everywhere. Albus is muttering to himself between curses "Oh no Dumbledore is too ivory tower these days REDUCTO yes, yes hasn't left his office mentally for years REDUCTO used to be the most dangerous wizard in the world but now REDUCTO there was a time..."
Dumbledore stops, standing with one foot in the remains of Lucius Malfoy "USED to be dangerous is it, I'll show those REDUCTO..."
Sorry, had to get that out of my head. More soon please.
Comments from author:
Oh yeah, it will certainly be different. Never fear, the war will happen, but there will be changes as well.
To Dumbledore, wow, that was a serious John Dorian (Scrubs) moment. It's funny, I do the same thing myself :)
