Surely Aarron is not that old, to have Anya as his grandmother? Makes one wonder who else is present in his family tree though.

Anyanka, not Anya. In the twisted cannon this was based on, she had a half human son sometime in the 1800's. There's plenty of story in that, and might get written up separately. It depends on how much gets worked into Quest.
