Review of chapter "Fear and Trembling" from Stationary
Review:
ooh! id love to see this turned into a series of one-shots and maybe an actual fic showing illyria going to all the heavenly dimensions, searching for fred, and finally finding her--pick whichever heaven you choose, so long as they get to meet, talk and for illyria to understand even a little what it means to be human. as she's been trying to, i think.

Well, you did joke about him being skinned alive. The reason I mentioned Christ was because if Aslan is a God, that's who he is, not a fictional one Lewis invented. Forget it.

Certainly an unusual encounter. I wonder if Aslan will be so amused afterwards...

At no point in The Chronicles of Narnia does it say that Aslan is a god. However, it is generally agreed that he is a metaphor for Jesus Christ. He's certainly not any other god. So what you're really boasting is that Illyria will slaughter Jesus Christ. Suffice to say, if you call Aslan a god, you said it, C.S. Lewis didn't.
Comments from author:
Hmm, interesting. And here I was, thinking that this was just my take on what would happen if these two particular fictional characters from separate fictional universes were ever to meet under circumstances inspired by AtS canon. Given Illyria's proclivity toward violence, her difficulty accepting her irrelevance as an Old One, and the turmoil Fred's humanity is causing within her, I really don't think it's too much of a stretch to think she'd react in this way, either.
And yes, I realize that CS Lewis created the character Aslan as a sort of reimagined, reincarnated Jesus, but to say that I, as the author, am “boasting" that Illyria will slaughter Jesus Christ? Really? At most, I'm echoing the tension that has actually existed in history whenever an older religion suddenly found itself being replaced by a newer one -- while keeping Illyria and Aslan in character. But hey, to each his own. *shrugs*
Though funnily enough, at no point in this fic do I say that Illyria actually won; nor do I call Aslan a god. Yes, I have Illyria acknowledge (albeit begrudgingly) both his powers and his authority over 'His Country', but that doesn't deviate from the books at all, so I’m not sure what you're last comment is all about.

Interesting take. I've actually been trying to think of a good story for this FFA pairing myself. I like yours better than anything I was able to come up with! Thanks for sharing!

I'm not quite sure what you were going for in this fic, or if you managed to get there. It is an intriguing meeting of characters though, I wonder if Illyria will understand the Lion, or herself, better after this?
Comments from author:
Ah, well, I tried! I wanted to show the extent Illyria would go to to learn more about the lingering humanity she'd been saddled with in the form of Fred's memories, even if that meant encountering another god.
I hope someone does a manip for this showing Illyria wearying Aslan's skin. I've always hated that condescending, manipulative, lion.
Comments from author:
LOL That would be fantastic! And until then, I have some wonderful mental imagery to sustain me. And so glad I'm not the only one not too fond of Aslan! He could be a bastard when he wanted to be -- which was often.
