Intriguing bit of work so far (Although I admit I'd prefer to know where this fits into the LotR timeline; will the war be beginning soon, or not?); keep up the good work!

I'll be sure to put that into the header when I add the next chapter. However, here's one just for you:
The War of the Ring begins in 3018 T.A. This story takes place sometime between 2060 and 2463 T.A. Even though that's a span of about 400 years, it's 400 years in which not much takes place. Tolkien called it the "Watchful Peace". Arwen was born in 241 T.A. Her mother, Celebrian, leaves Middle Earth in 2510 T.A.
So the war won't begin for another 540-1000 years. Tara probably won't be meeting any of the Fellowship members; the only one who's even been born yet is Legolas.

Let's see.... as a mortal she'll be dead in just 4 or 5 decades, story over... unless she really is part something else on her mother's side? The story of 'demon blood' a distorted memory in the family of that? She's fairly powerful as a witch, and that's without any rings...

You forget that technically, she's already dead. *shifty look*

Sounds promising! I'm sure that Tara can fit into Middle-Earth without too much ado. Can't wait and see if she'll bond with any of the elves, too! And Gandalf, of course, is as helpful as always.

Interesting idea. And I am glad that this story cannot devolve into a LotR retelling with Tara as additional companion. Why? Because Celebrían is still in Middle-Earth. So this story takes place before 2509 T.A. (The War of the Rings happened in 3018/19 T.A.). And with Gandalf in the story it takes place after 1000 T.A. Will there be any romance in this story? If so, please remember that Tara is gay. So Tara/Arwen would be very fitting.

In my mind, this takes place sometime during the Watchful Peace, which lasts from 2060 to 2463 T.A. I didn't do much to narrow the date down more than that since it's about 400 years in which not much notable happens in Middle-Earth, but I believe the PTB would have chosen a time when things were calm. And, of course, I wouldn't dare try and make Tara 'straight'. But I'm also not sure if I will have any romance in this story. Thank you for your comment! I'm glad to have a reader with such knowledge of the timeline of LotR; I had to find a timeline and do a bit of research when this plot bunny bit me.
