Nasty...I see that the Gods of Toril have much to learn yet in the way of reasoning and thought, or at least the Seldarine.

Well written. Thank you very much!

Very interesting setup. I'm looking forward to reading the SG-1 bits of this series even more, now. If that was possible.

Thank you for sharing these!

Review:
Very interesting. I liked the earlier one, and this was even better. I think you managed to accurately portray Corellon and Eilistraee, and especially their relationship. Sehanine was a bit OoC, but since she's merging with Selune, it explains a lot. The idea of balance changing because of Shar may also be true, and is very intriguing. While I've never believed in the Black Moon Heresy, I do believe it has a factual source in the fact that Selune and Shar are inextricably linked.
The story was also very good, with Shevarash as the cat's-paw. I really enjoyed your portrayal of him, as well as what Shar did to him. Vhaerun was also well written. Aklthough I wonder that Shar got there first. Mystra must have been contacted faster, as Chosen have a closer connection than priests, and she actually lives in Limbo, so she should have been able to get there first.
Shar and Mystra... hmm. The idea is intriguing, but I'm unsure. One the one hand, Mystra was formed from Shar's and Selune's aspects of magic, and I'm sure that there are many things Shar could teach this Mystra (especially since she's the new one, Midnight). On the other hand, Mystra would probably demand Shar abandon the Shadow Weave, which is her greatest crime against Mystra. Also, Mystra's youth and lack of experience would probably make her hesitant in dealing with Shar, so much that I would expect her to consult with her elder Chosen (Elminster, The Simbul, Halaster) about an actual alliance. So I really can't see an alliance here unless they settle these differences.
Lastly, if Shar is making amends, it would probably be a good idea to ask forgiveness from Sharess. She did corrupt her, but Sharess was recently freed (during the Time of Troubles). She'd be great fun at any party, and she may even be able to help Eilistraee - she's also the aspect of Zandilar the Dancer, who was a minor Seldarine deity.
EDIT: Yeah, but a mutual agreement is very close to an alliance, since they'd both be helping Eilistraee anyway.
The main problem of the Shadow Weave is it's utter opposite is the Weave. Mystra probably couldn't take it over, true, but since it gives power to Shar, it would make sense to forge some sort of power-sharing agreement (though the amount of power Mystra already has is so huge, it staggers the mind). But it is an important part of any agreement between Mystra and Shar, which should happen. The fact is, Mystra and Shar have far too many conflicts which take out powerful followers of either. The whole Shadowdale: the Scouring of the Land fiasco happened because of a Shadow Weave attack on Elminster's Tower, and ended with Sylune's death. They should at least make some sort of truce. And Elminster and the other Chosen would want to know what Mystra was thinking, and she would probably have to answer them, seeing as they hold a great part of her power. It's assumed Elminster and the Simbul carry a large part of Mystra's divinity in them and Elminster did have Mystra's memories and knowledge.
The complication of the situation with Sharess is one of the reasons it should be resolved. besides, it's not like she would object to hooking up with Vhaerun at the party, and it's not like she's forming an alliance with him - it's with Shar. She's also bast, which may help with fighting Set in Mulhorand.
Oh, and something I forgot about Sehanine - what does this mean for Angharradh? It is disturbing to think the Queen of Arvandor may be gone.
EDIT 2: No, just finished Book 3 last night. I'll get to it, then.

Thank you!

The Mystra who was Ariel Manx/Midnight doesn't live in Limbo. Mystryl's realm Dweomertor was in Limbo but Dweomerheart is in Nirvana. Mystra did get there first, in fact, but only by seconds; she was a little more cautious in her approach to Shevarash's fortress than Shar, giving Shar a chance to catch up, and then they mounted a simultaneous assault. Mystra blew the wall open while Shar went in through the gap.

If Shar abandoned the Shadow Weave someone else would take it over - probably Cyric. Once created it can't be uncreated. It wouldn't be a good idea for Mystra to take it over but Shar might be willing to negotiate some sort of power-sharing agreement. And she's not after an alliance as such with Mystra, other than a mutual agreement to help Eilistraee.

The situation with Sharess is extremely complicated. Remember that Zandilar the Dancer is Vhaeraun's ex!

Addition: Most of the points you have raised will be answered during the course of the 'Tabula Avatar' series. One of them (Angharradh) already has been. I take it you didn't read the most recent chapter of 'A Plague of Serpents'?

It's always nice to see an update from you!
The nice twist on Sehanine certainly explains a lot and ties in nicely with what is happening in 'Plague of Serpents'; presumbly when Sehanine, Hanali & Aerdrie become 1 goddess again, Correllan will come to his senses and welcome Eilastraee back.

I'm wondering if Hanali is also an aspect of Sune and is no longer an independent goddess in her own right. After all Selune needs an ally in Arvandor and why not another human goddess pretending to be an elven one (and who does not get along with Shar)? While Aerdrie might also be a canditate I don't think Akadi would act against Shar and she has shown herself to be symphathic towards Eilastraee.

Update soon!

Thank you!

According to some of the official material from Wizards of the Coast, in the wake of 4th Edition D&D, Hanali Celanil has been merely an Aspect of Sune ever since the Attack of the Anti-Seldarine over 14,000 years ago.

I can tell you've spoiled D&D for me -- I always expect Shar to be turning neutral-to-good when I read about her now, even in other people's writings. (Not that I'm complaining.)

I'm always happy to see a new installment in any of your Toril-related storylines. Each of them has a unique flavor.

I'm a night shift worker and so the Mistress of the Night is my patron deity; I couldn't very well leave her as Evil.

Really nice to see you back at this story. Eilistraee was one of my favorite characters from the Forgotten Realms. I still don't understand the reasoning or lack there of, that WotC had in destroying the rich environment that gave the setting so much strength. It was reckless and shortsighted on there part and did not work towards improving the system. Well, getting back to my review. I am happy to see Mystra joining the story, another favorite. I will be looking forward to the next chapter and if I am lucky an invite to what looks to be a great party.
Comments from author:
Thank you! I blame Lisa Smedman, to a large extent, and her obsession with her Mary-Sue character Halisstra Melarn - although some of the forums blame Richard Baker.

It certainly should be a great party - Lliira can be relied upon to get the party started. Of course Giles and his band have a few obstacles they must overcome before they can provide the music...

I have no idea who these characters are, except from your stories. And yet... this story is wonderful. I came to like Shar a lot, of course, but even the other gods... it's like I'm learning about the history of a foreign land. Great job.

Review:
Fantastic story, Speaker. It's nice to see a more dynamic version of the new Realms developing here, instead of the bloodbath that was 4.0. Yours looks like it will be no less drastic in its impacts, but should do it through political fallout instead of blowing up large sections of the plane.
Comments from author:
Thank you! The conflicts building in this verse might not be bloodless but they certainly won't include stupid deaths like Tyr killing Helm and Eilistraee getting killed by an annoying Mary-Sue character. And no way am I going to mash up Abeir and Toril the way WotC did; the logic behind that totally eludes me.

Review:
'Gwyllachaightaeryll?' Seems excessive. Heh, I guess that's pretty much the point of the word :D

I hope there's a friendly god of therapy for Eilistraee... I'm also worried about what happens when a god has nightmares.

Nice. Seems that they have contacts in Corellon's court, not to mention that Mystra's still welcome - at least until Shevarash reports in. I'd have word passed around the inside of the court that Selune and Moonbow might be merging, in hopes of affecting her reputation. Even if Sehanine responds by calling them vicious rumors being spread by the pro-Shar faction, that could work against her when the transformation becomes more apparent.
Comments from author:
I had to copy and past Gwyllachaightaeryll out of the Forgotten Realms Wiki - I'd never have been able to type it.

Therapy would come under the province of Talona, Goddess of Disease and Poison - who also does Healing, is rather good at it, and is Shar's longest-standing friend and totally loyal to her.

That is what they're going to do. Unfortunately there's another ringer in Corellon's court besides Sehanine...
