Review:
This was great. I loved the bit at the end, how Jack caused the events of the newest movie.

Ohhhh, god, you set up the Star Trek Rebootverse by using Deanna Troi's MOTHER?

It makes you wonder what'll happen when Q eventually realises that in that reality Jack Sparrow's almost certain to ascend into the Continuum?

This is a delightful story--and I love fics that allow the Star Trek reboot to coexist with the TV series. Lwaxana was wonderful; her certainty and strength of character were well written. It was easy to see how they had helped to anger Q and cause the problem in the first place, but at the same time they also got her out of the PotC trouble. Also? "Rum enabled navigational error" is awesome.

Review:
My knowledge of the ST:TNG is absolutely minimal. Don't know any but the crew, and therefore no idea at all about Lwaxana other than that she's Deanna's mother.
And *yet*, this was a terrific read. The fic idea, Lwaxana's characterization and the interactions are great. And damn Q for not letting her be happy in doing a good deed without telling her of the disaster it'll cause. Thanks so much for writing this fic. :)

Eep!
That was AWESOME!
Any chance of an encounter between Jack Sparrow and Kirk in that new timeline you just started? ;)

Review:
That was fantastic! I love the idea of everything that changes with Lwaxana.

One small nit-pick, sorry -- Lwaxana's manservant is Mr. Homn, not Mr. Hamm. (I... might have a slight obsession with all things Lwaxana and Homn?)

I still say this is one of the very best things since sliced bread, and absolutely the best fix to the reboot I've ever seen.

*adds to rec list here, too*

Edit the last:

I may actually be able to stand watching the reboot after reading this fix for it. As stated elsewhere, I dearly love the idea that the whole thing is Q's fault.

Review of chapter "A Wonderfully Improbable Chain of Events" from MarcusSLazarus
Review:
So... because of Lwaxana's intervention, Will and Elizabeth never really achieved their full potential because they never formed their initial bond, and she thus created the timeline that would result in the creation of the alternate reality due to the new fate of the "Dutchman" and its captain?

Original idea, I'll give you that, and it definitely fits Q's 'teaching methods' (For lack of a better term for those moments when he used his powers to make a point to Picard)...
Comments from author:
It's more that they formed a *different* bond; they still got caught up in Sparrow's mayhem, but said Captain became the Dutchman rather than Will. I didn't specify what romantic adventures *did* happen because I felt it best to leave that to the reader's imagination.

The request was a challenging one; I didn't want to go crack-heavy with it, which meant something improbable had to have happened, and Q best fit the bill, so... =)
