I never understood why Buffy let Travers walk away - I would have killed him, right there and then. He is an obvious threat not only to Buffy, but her family as well. And then I would have considered going over to England and killing all of the council leadership. Leaving an enemy alive behind you is stupid, since you never know when they will attack again.

To Travers it was all about power, who had it and who ddin't. He wants to be the one with the power. I really doubt that he would have been as opposed to a gun if Kendra had used it, but he was trying to prove who was in charge.
