Why do trailers when a story might not be made?

I think you missed the word "Yet".

Actually there is a very good reason to do "trailers" Right now I'm finishing off one of the biggest single stories I've ever wrote, a Power Rangers Buffy crossover. I came up with this idea while I was writing that. Now I don't have time to do both so I have to do one at at time.

I threw the "Trailer", or better yet "Teaser", out there to stake my clame to the idea and maybe inspire a few writers to see what they can do. Another point is drum up some support, see if anyone wants to read a ThunderCats Crossover.

Let's face it the cartoon remake last year is dead, there are no more new episodes planned and other than nostalgia is anyone interested in the show? It might have been retro-hip to like the 80s a few years ago but now? People might wear the logo, but other than that? Is it worth me putting the effort into effectively writing everything post season 3 of Buffy for four people, or should I crawl back to the Doctor who section and write for the more popular shows?

The answer is, of course, to write what I like to write. Which means I WILL be coming back to this story. I WILL knuckle down and write the best damn story I can and it will be glorious.

Until then it does good to wet peoples appetites for what is to come so baring the end of the world this one will be kicking off, proper, in 2013.

There WILL be more, just not for a while. I want to get Power Rangers Demon Wars out of the way first, I don't like the idea of both that and this one running at the same time.

Nice start. It'll be interesting to see what changes the Sword of Omens will have for Buffy and company.

this is an interesting idea, please continue it.

I'm working on it. The problem is I won't go into a story without knowing an ending. At the moment this one doesn't have one. It just keeps going and going and... you get the picture. I could go completely AU with it and just rewrite the whole show, but that is too massive an undertaking. Especially with all the other ideas I have and the lack of free time.

Don't worry I WILL be coming back to this,just finishing a few other's off first...

Please continue this story.
Thundercats stories are a rare crossover and if done well even rarer.
This has potential to be an excellent story just from the trailer alone.

The greatest problem with potential is living up to it. I have a lot of ideas with this, but at the moment they aren't coming together.

The biggest problems, right now, is what to do with Xander and plotting out the end. I decided, early on, Xander should be Buffy's partner in crime with this one. Not in the romantic sense but her support, as he was in the show. At the moment the only way I can do that is... well not giving anything away introducing another odd and sightly obscure (as in not often done) crossover. I'm just not sure that will be accepted as well as Thundercats. Especially since its yet another halloween costume.

Then there's an end. I won't write story if I can't see the last chapter. I learnt a long time ago that that is the most importnat part. The thing everything else is building up to, but I can't see it.

But I'll say this, the amount of ideas I'm having with this one it is going to have to be written. There is no doubt that more will come, it's just a question of when. And if it lives up to it's potential.

I'm intrigued and wish to see where this ends up going, it's not often you see a TC crossover of any kind.

Hmmm, interesting start for the story and I would like to see more as this is a crossover I havn't seen much of.

It would be interesting to see how the questions: How did the Sword of Omens get there? How will this change the Scooby gang? How with this change the time line? Is there any Thundercat villians still out there (Mum-Ra)? will be answered.

i have the answers for those questions, I'm not going to give them here but be assured they do exist in this story.

I will admit that there are thundercats villains in the world. who and where is just going to be interesting.

It might take a while though. I need to finish of *something* else before I can get started with this. I'm writing far too much at the moment.

A nice trailer. I would like to see how this fits within BTVS. Was the sword thrown into a time portal; was it transported away from Third Earth to a dimensional double by Mum-Ra? Will Buffy and the gang gain Thundarian attributes based on the noble bloodlines? I look forward to reading the answers to these questions.

Its pretty much an AU from this point on.

The Sword of Omens is going it change a lot of what happened originally, but it wasn't thrown through any portal. It was, however, left there for a great warrior to find and use to defend Sunnydale. I do have a legend planned out for it, just not sure where it goes from there!

Very interesting. The Scoobies will become the new Thundercats? I don't remember watching the end of the series, so I don't know if Mumm-Ra is still around, but I'd like to see Buffy and the others fight against a re-occurring Big Bad who can laugh maniacally.

Not quite become, more "Will inherit certain abilities."

Mumm-Ra, that's a tricky question. He is still around, cannon wise, but I might not use him. I'm not sure.

Its been WAY too long since anyone has tried a Thundercats crossover! When you get done with your other projects, consider this MY endorsement for you to do this!! THUNDERCATS HO!

I've looked and not found much in the ThunderCat field, for anything really.

As you pointed out the full thing will have to wait until after I've finished something else in my library. I'm tying up at least two others at the moment, they've only got a couple of chapters left between them and we'll see after that.

The concept for this could be pure gold. I know how I would divide up the thunder cats power among the Scoobies. But I would guess you already have that figured. Still this could be great.

We'll see, but I think "Scoobies" is going to be the wrong nickname. Meow.

There is going to be an interesting side effect to the Eye that's going to make Buffy life a little difficult, that and the Spirits of Ancient Evil are still around. Three have been sleeping for a while... Yes I do have most of it planned out, it's just a little long winded at the moment. I have to knock the rough edges off it.
