Odd crossover, but an interesting idea if nothing else; should be interesting to see what kind of impact Ziva can make on the quest, to say nothing of the obvious question of how she ended up in Middle-Earth in the first place...

Just found this fic the other day and I gotta say you've managed to weave the tale pretty well so far, so I am eager to see more.

There is still hope that your story does not fall into the typical LotR crossover trap. You can still make it into a non-additional companion story.

I like it. It's a very nice constrast to Ziva in middle earth by showing what's happening at NCIS. It shows that they haven't forgotten her. Not many authors bother showing what's happening back home on fics like this. Very good. :)

The more and more I read this, the more I get into the story. It is really good and you keep everyone in character. It's a brillant story, can't wait to see more.

As long as this story does not become an additional companion fic and/or Legolas-romance it could be great. Those things have been done to death and none of them is really good, most of them are very bad because they are just retellings of the movies with additional characters. Middle-Earth is much more than just the Novel and the Movies. There are so many stories to tell, like to gathering of the grey company or the battles in Wilderland.
So it is up to you if you want to write a unique piece of story telling or a substandard generic story.

Although I cannot promise that this will be a good additional companion story (that part of the story is already written and published elsewhere, so I cannot change it now), I can promise that it will most definitely not be a Legolas-romance and I am going to try to make this story as much my own (and not just a copy of the movie) as I possibly can. The Lord of the Rings movies are really what I know the most of, partly the books but I haven't read them in years, so that is the only reason why I am going the route I am. I hope you continue to read the story and at least give it a chance.
