Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Grovtech
Review:
A very impressive introduction. A lot of mystery and future promise of more to come. If part of a commercial work I would definitely read more. Good stuff. Now on to the next part!

Thank you. I hope that the next part is as much to your taste.

Very interesting, I haven't read this story before and I like Simon, he's an interesting OC, and I'm guessing that the distant relatives he was looking up would be the Rosenbergs?

Comments from author:
It is the introduction of a very big series... ;-) And yes, the Rosenbergs, or at least, Willow.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Harry
Review:
This Doctor sounds like a mixture of Giles and a MD from a long family in the business. He made a VERY good impression on a lot of people.
Comments from author:
Glad you liked him.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from DieselDriver
Review:
That's a really good start. Looking forward to reading more. I have no idea who Simon is, not even what crossover he's from, or is he?
Comments from author:
Thanks, Simon is an OC from a novel I'm writing. Versions of him have been botehring me for a while now. And the one I am writing wasn't cooperating very much, so I took up Fan fic as a dsitraction.

Thanks and thanks for reviewing

Review:
Finally stumbled into this series, which I believe is the one you're still working on? It is freaking BRILLIANT! Please PM me and let me know when your book is published, because I LOVE Simon and I'd really love to hear more about him, his family and his secretary.

Needless to say, I'm going to be thoroughly addicted to this series as well! Thank you!

Lastly, thank you also for picking up my mood.
Comments from author:
Thank you. This is the main series, as can be seen from the size of the thing. If it ever gets published I'll certainly let people know.

His secretary will not feature all that much, except in references. I hope you sitll like Simon in four hundred pages or so. And the writing too.

Thanks and thanks for reviewing

I am so very ashamed of myself for not having read any of your wonderful fics. I am starting with this series and reading on from there. This is truly delightful.
Comments from author:
Heh, not a problem. You have picked the big one to start with though...

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from RebeccaAshling
Review:
So that is how Simon met Joyce and the children. That was a sweet piece of fluff. I'm wondering if this shouldn't be part of "Lonely Souls" but there is a bit of a time gap between the two stories so maybe not.
Comments from author:
When I first started I intended to do about a chapter, mostly two, per episode. Things didn't quite work out that way. Simon is also the 'happy aspect'of an character in my novel. Which is still stuck in limbo...

Maybe if I ever do that major edit some people want me to do, I will join them together. Thanks for reviewing

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from (Past Donor)James
Review:
Just started this today. Looked very promising.

I would suggest inserting links into the chapters of the "main" story if you want to maintain you current table of contents-like series page.

Another method would be to insert the smaller stories into the chapters to make it flow smoother.

I would also recommend a beta reader. You often use the word 'of' instead of 'off'.

I love Simonand can't wait til he meets Giles.

At first, I thought that Simon was referring to Willow as the daughter that was left alone by the parents often. But, Simon didn't seem to know her. Oh, well.

James
Comments from author:
Thank you.

That's a very good suggestion. I'll need to implement it. Now all I need to do is learn how to craft nice looking links in Word...

I tried to insert some of the stories into the main story, but it seemed off somehow. Another reader suggested I do that, do a major edit. Maybe, one day. But I won't hold my breath...

Ah, the of/off problem. I'm aware of it. Happily I now have a beta (two even, excellent ones) I have yet to scrape up the courage to ask them to edit the whole mass before they starte...

I hope you'll still love Simon, and the series, later on. Let me know. Thanks for reviewing

Review:
Very delightful story!! At first, I thought Simon was Buffy's new Watcher. Here's hoping Buffy doesn't get tossed into an asylum!
Comments from author:
Simon, a Watcher? ehem. Well, after advancing through the series you may realize that Simon would not like that. At all...

Thanks for reviewing.

Review:
Hello! I love this series -- this is my second time through, but I don't think I've reviewed before. I love your characters. They are well written -- completely believable. Very human, even when they aren't. :) It's great to read a story with OC's that aren't Mary Sue's. I wish I had my own Simon. :)

Comments from author:
Thank you. I'm very glad you like it. I've not seen your name pop up before, so I think this is your first review. I made some (mostly cosmetic) changes to LS, but I hope they won't bother you. Glad to hear my OC's aren't M and G Stu's. I wish I had one too, the money would come in useful. ;-)

Again, very glad you like it and thanks for reviewing

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from JediKnight
Review:
Very interesting, but I prefer more of a back-story with OCs. With some of the terms you used, I curious, are you from the U.K.?
Comments from author:
Thank you. Most of Simon's background will be filled in in the context of the story, the Scoobies after all, are quite curious as well. Simon's 'own' story is told in Portrait of the Philanthropist as a young man.

I'm not a native speaker of English, but I was taught Queen's English and hugely influnced by the BBC and British books, so I tend to use British spelling, and some terms, certainly for Simon.

Decided to see what the rest of this series is all about. Really enjoy this wonderful intro tale. Loved dawnie's fighting as well as the meeting off all the sunnydale cast with our mysterious stranger. Now onto the second tale..

Heh, MA! Got me another! I'm happy to read you were lured in by Harry Potter and decided to try the rest of the series. I must admit I never imagined Strangers at the gate to quite lead into what I have here now... I love writing young Dawn.
