Certainly a valid interpretation, if not a useful one for any of our heros. I don't recognise the two ancient sorcerers though?

interesting. What about Giles, the man who wanted to destroy the seed and was the most educated of all of them.

In the comics of Season 8, he had had his neck snapped by Angel, who was under the control of 'the Twilight'.
