Review of chapter "Chapter 7" from Angelfirenze
Review:
Okay, this was good, but Harry could show a little more emotion while Dumbledore and Snape should each be showing quite a bit less. There's no way Severus would EVER talk to Dumbledore that way, nor would Dumbledore sit back and take it. Say nothing of the fact that Dumbledore is being really rather open considering how secretive we know his character to be in canon. It's rather odd.

On another point, I'd like very much to see what Harry's homelife here on the Hellmouth has been like. The Dursleys can't be that much better, if at all. In canon, Dudley was the only one who ever showed any improvement whatsoever, which definitely says something.

Anyway, good job, but room for improvement - to be concise.

Review of chapter "Chapter 7" from Rod
Review:
An interesting tale well told. The characters' voices don't quite hit the spot, though; every now and then a word choice, particularly with the older British characters, just leaps out as wrong. I'm not talking about Harry, whose vocabulary will be different after spending so long in the States, but for example "Then we're all screwed" is not something I can imagine Severus Snape saying. He would say something of the sort, but not those words.

Review of chapter "Chapter 7" from CrystalBlaze
Review:
Severus may, in fact, believe Harry James Potter is alive, but he'll NEVER admit it to himself until Harry's in his face.

After all, he'd have to report it to Voldemort if he believed Harry survived.

What worries me is Albus not seeing this.

Review of chapter "Chapter 6" from ChiVayne
Review:
So perhaps the type of magic Giles teaches Harry becomes 'the power he know not' rather than the power of love that Dumbledore believes it to be.

Review of chapter "Chapter 6" from kayron
Review:
Even though Harry hasn't been learning spells from Hogwarts since he was eleven, Harry is still better off in Sunnydale. He has a group of friends who are willing to support and back him up. He has someone who is willing to teach him wandless magic. Also, he has two years of practical experience with physical fighting against the things that go bump in the night. He wouldn't be at Buffy's level of fighting, after all she is the Slayer, but he would be in better shape than the pureblood DEs that rely soley on their wands. I'm looking forward to his training.

Review of chapter "Chapter 6" from Michaelsuave
Review:
Very nice, I like the team spirit and training. This chapter seems like it is the first trumpet of what will build towards a climatic orchestral battle theme of Harry taking on the evil in the wizarding world and buffy growing stronger right along side. Keep up the good work. Cheers!

Review of chapter "Chapter 6" from Argo
Review:
Well, it's all good and helpful for Harry, but I wonder why only Buffy and Harry get training.
I'm slightly disappointed at Giles, not suggesting to get training for all Scoobies.
I mean, the "Chosen Ones" not only ones, who are going to fight. So, Buffy and Harry have their fates and will get help, but if you're an ordinary people and don't have special fate, you're going to the fight not prepared and trained, it seems.
I think Xander and Willow must get training as much as Buffy and Harry, since they are going to be all together in the same places and wars. Maybe, then Willow will be discovered to be talented witch, and I'm sure, with proper training, Xan can be one hell of fighter, and maybe have some magical abilities also. He has set the book into fire once, after all, as he read out loud from it in Latin, hasn't he? :)
PS: I also wonder how much wanded magic users can live in Sunnydale not knowing they are wizards, just because of Hellmouth's influence.
Also, if they're almost eighteen-year-olds (all of them, or Harry just older than the rest of the gang?) then Buffy's Cruciamentum is nearing. I mean, Buffy came to Sunnydale at 1997 in September. Harry was seventeen at September 1997. The Harvest was in autumn of this year (1997?). "Six months later" (chapter 4 of your story) was the February of 1998, Buffy's birthday in January. If she and Harry in the same grade, she would turn eighteen this January and this is when Cruciamentum occurs. Will Giles go with Council's tradition and let Buffy be drugged and put with a dangerous mad vampire, unprotected? How will others react to that? Will Travers betray Harry's location?
Comments from author:
Thanks for reviewing. I did think about Giles giving them all training, but I'm trying to keep everyone as close to canon as possible and in canon, he didn't really train anyone except Buffy to fight evil, so I didn't see any reason for him to do it now.

Now as for the ages. They are all seventeen. According to episode guides that I looked up, season one of Buffy actually took place in place in March of 1997, so now it is around september 1997. I wasn't sure of exactly when Buffy's birthday was, so for this story, it didn't take place until a couple of months after she came to town, making them all about the same age.

Love it. While the Dursley's are morons, moving to the Hellmouth and Giles teaching Harry is one of the brilliant moments. Voldy won't know what hit him.
