Review of chapter "Memorium" from Lolaisawesome
Review:
I have always hated that the obliviate spell was never looked at as morally wrong so this story is perfect to me. Very well written and well thought out. I'll be on the lookout for a sequel, maybe Hermione and/or the scoobies teaming up with Joanna to expose the wizarding world.
Good luck!

Excellent, unflinching look at just how twisted and evil the wizarding world truly is.

Review:
Excellent story. I always love it when I find these things that focus on under-/un-explored facets of stories and settings. (Characters too, but stories like that are more common)

The ending could have been more satisfying (or a sequel could have been written), but It's still at least a 4.5 out of 5 in my book.

Review of chapter "Memorium" from Letomo
Review:
A very powerful story. Almost wants a story told about someone so fooling the Wizarding world with technology, they are left as useless as they think Muggles are. Heh. After all, how many wizards went to the moon? Or transfered information seemlessly around the world at light speed [internets!].

And, their cover is broken - if she is really smart, and gets over things, she could start planting some seeds.

Great story. Almost like a short crime novel. Keep up the good work.

Review of chapter "Memorium" from Gideon
Review:
Interesting story. It shows a different perspective with the minor characters and -horrors- even muggle characters! I do have to wonder how long it will be till the obsessive secrecy bites the wizarding world on the butt in an even bigger way. Technology will keep getting harder and harder to fool, especially if the wizards stay mostly incompetent. And with mobile phone cameras and youtube I can't see them staying secret much longer at all. Bring on the witch burnings I fear!

Review of chapter "Memorium" from kaleecat
Review:
Many reviewers have said what I am thinking, perhaps with more eloquence than I could. This is a thoughtful use of the outsider, the victim, as harsh light on the excesses and arrogance of the wizarding world. I think what should have been the awakening moment is when Dumbledore discovers the intricate and detailed investigations into the "drug related" murders, coupled with Joanna's scathing diatribe to Bones et al regarding their idiocy in planting the drugs as cover-up.

What also struck me is the auror Manning, who will somewhat redeeming himself & his heritage at the end by freeing Joanna, showcases what we saw in canon. The virtual brainwashing of the muggle-born/raised into the wizarding world's prejudices and idiocy such that they forget the common sense & knowledge beyond the Victorian era taught in the mundane world. While Hermione escapes it to some extent, she fully embraces the virtual 'kool-aid' in her devotion to authority (esp. DD), her ever decreasing time as the years go by in the mundane world, and finally when she actually mind-rapes her own parents and sends them on their way.

Thoughtful, though-provoking, chilling with undertones and foreshadowing that the wizarding world will bring their destruction by "muggles" on themselves. It is highly unlikely that Joanna will go quietly in the night. This is also an extremely well-written story from all sides, I look forward to seeing more.

Review:
Great story! Obliviate is indeed a troubling ability. The effects it could have on the world when used for cover-ups is gven little attention in canon. You covered it well here.

Review of chapter "Memorium" from Greywizard
Review:
Excellent! And a well-written description of why the Wizarding World gene pool needs to have several tanker trucks of chlorine flushed into it.

Would love to see more of this, either crossing with the Scoobies or possibly some other series which has people who actually possess morals and ethics.

Review:
Solid story, good characterizations, and excellent little critique about the obvious flaws in both overuse of the obliviate spell and also of the society rowling invented.

Very much enjoyed reading it.

Review:
Excellent !! This has a novel premise, and is very well written besides. I can't help wondering what might happen if Joanna has the chance to tell her story to Buffy and the Scoobies - I don't think they'd approve of the situation at all. This could be the prelude to a very interesting crossover.

Review of chapter "Memorium" from Malu
Review:
Ever since I first read about the "obliviate" and related spells, I have considered it the most foul invention of JKR's fantasy. It IS mind-rape, no doubt about it. I find it even more unforgivable then the official "Unforgivables" (even when there is another mind-rape type spell included: "Imperio" ). To have the sovereignty of your mind invaded and changed, to have your free will influenced and even overruled.... Absolutely horrible. Your story illustrates this in a good way, but for me you could have put in even more outrage. Otherwise it is a good and complete narrative. Well done.

Excellent - the type of in-depth exploration of wizarding world issues that there should be more of.
