Review of chapter "A note from mother" from BrownFinderth
Review:
Very good! And revealing! Though I would like to learn more about the lamb incident!!!
Comments from author:
Thank you. Heh. The Lamb incident is the reason why the book is called the silence of the lambs. Clarice was horrified when a group of lambs was slaughtered by her farmer uncle. After that, she was sent to the Lutheran Orphanage.
Thanks for reviewing.

Review:
One of the things I like about "Waifs And Strays" is the array of super-moms you have got deployed. I lost my own mother in my early teens so this is an attractive feature of the WS stories for me. And seeing the formidable Clarice Starling being mothered by the even more formidable Cecilia was nice and sweet :) Couldn't help but think of Grendel and his mum, though ;)
Comments from author:
A lot of the super mom thing is being activated by Joyce. (And now Molly) being Mothers. Cecelia is becoming more the mother she should have been, because Joyce hoped for that... there you have the power of Mother.
I think Clarice is very lonely in the books and movie. Being mothered can only be good for her. ;-)

Review:
Beautiful. I loved it. The idea of Clarice being related to them all is an excellent one, and I loved the way Cecilia takes charge. We can see where her daughters' skills come from. And of course, it's good for Clarice to have someone who loves and cares for her. Hopefully, with her entire family, she'll be much better.
Comments from author:
Thank you. Cecelia is very take charge mother, but she can also overbearing and not show enough love, witness Joyce's reaction to her apology in chapter 28. I do hope Clarice will do better. But she really can;t do much worse than she did in canon.

Another fine snippet. I really really love this series it is rapidly becoming one of my favorites. So far you have crossed over some of my favorite television shows. I so look forward to seeing where this will go. Though I had hoped you would pair Clarise with Patrick. Anyway I can hardly wait to see the look on the top FBI brasses face when she introduces Simon as her big brother and then hits him with that executive order. Of course it be a blast to see Lecter show up and have to face momma bear lol. I would almost feel bad for him. Almost. Even if he is my favorite psycopath. Fire
Comments from author:
Thanks. I, of course, only use things to cross over with that I enjoy. Lecter vs. Cecilia? No contest. Maybe I shall try and add another psychopath to your list...

Lamb? Ouch! Poor Clarice. She needs some time off, I think. She may be right about the existence of Vampires, but she clearly has other problems, too. Chasing serial killers and other monsters is the sort of job that gives decent people nightmares. The lack of support from most of the people around her would have made things worse. Hopefully her newfound family will be able to help her recover.
Also hope my review doesn't turn up twice, because something odd happened to it while I was writing it.
Comments from author:
I felt a bit cruel writing that...But I wanted to show just how fragile Clarice was/is. Cecilia is nothing if not determined to make up to her daughter and to take care of her. I answered this earlier but it failed. Sigh..
Ouch. Of all the foods Celia could have asked about. Interesting to have Jason Gideon in the mix, since his own breakdowns are looming in the future...
BTW, This isn't showing up as part of your series.
Edited because I seem to have forgotten to type critical words.
Comments from author:
There seems to be something about this story to prevent me from posting to answer reviews. Jason should be active at this time and I like the character. And Jason may just be saved, a little, from himself...
I sometimes have the same problem with typing. Thanks for reviewing.
