Reread this again today and almost wept at its terrible beautiful sadness. This deserves a million recs, but I'll start you off with just one :)

I thank you for the praise and the recommendation. I shall try and get back to work on the sequel. It has some scenes that might interest you. I don;t think I uploaded it here, but the first chapter is up on FFN. (Horror...) Same name as I use here.
Review of chapter "of the arms of my Brother" from Luna
Review:
Oh good lord, that was lovely. Whew! Breathtaking. I loved Galadriel's view on things.
I am most curious where you found all their nicknames. Not all the bios on the various wiki or encyclopedia pages list all those extra things - and if so, they do not properly label if it is an amilessë or not.
And you're braver than I -- I'm too afraid to use the uncommon names of the various people/places of Arda. There are a few names I still use the common Sindarin form rather than Quenyan. To go by family nicknames alone? Tricky! :)

I imagined a huge fondness from Finrod for Galadriel merely because of the nickname he gave her, Nerwen. I fear I got my information mostly the old fashioned way, from my books. (Silmarilion, historu of middle earth, unfinished tales.) I also admit to having forgotten more elvish than I remember. (Then again I was once, wince, considered a prime expert on it... Sixteen year olds and their obsessions...) I primarily use Tolkien gateway, the tolkien wiki ( I picked that page beacuse Legolas looks just as if he's about to a) flick his hair, or b) ask if this earring looks good. The third and fourth are a mix of good and bad. I also just use wikipedia, which quite often lists the names, amilessë and epessë.
Wow, I never really thought of how Thingol might take the news of Finrod's death. Yes, it was at his hands in a way, wasn't it? How disturbing for him.
I rather like the bit of life you fleshed out for Thingol, Melian, and Finrod in just these few paragraphs. Very well done.

I thought about how his death would have affected many people and picked the ones I thought most poignant. I conisdered writing Gildor, but thought it might be to painful.
At first I wasn't sure about reading this, because I didn't want my idea of Valinor type people to mesh with yours - I usually avoid fics in my fandoms that I'm currently writing about. But hey, very nice so far! I enjoyed the brothers' exchange.

Thank you. This isn't a crossover, so strictly speaking shouldn't even be her, but hey...
