Not bad.
What Buffy and Faith didn't know was that Godzilla's blood contained bacteria and viruses not seen in millions of years. (shades of "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms").
The resulting epidemic spread worldwide, killing ninety percent of the world's population.
Buffy and Faith were immune to these diseases because they were Slayers. They became Typhoid Marys, spreading disease to whatever reality they were in.

Simple and Violent, just like Faith's plans should be. Of course in this universe she probably had experience fighting the Mayor too.
