I liked it. I liked it a lot. :D I especially like the idea that maybe the new WC could have helped if only Angel had contacted them earlier.
Comments from author:
I mean, it wasn't a for sure thing, but at least then they would have had a chance.

Very interesting! I think that the next time Andrew goes out on a mission, have a cell phone set up with a quick dial back to the Watcher HQ. That way, there will be no mixup on his message!

Yeah, somebody will be listening in next time.

Well done! I like that we finally get Giles' side of the story. And it makes much more sense.

The phone call for help from Willow. In what universe would Angel think demanding to talk to Willow with no explanation whatsoever in the tone of voice he uses would ever get *Giles* of all people to do what he says. I mean ... really?

Really I got so annoyed at the final season of Angel with this scene and also how Andrew was written or even used in the episode with Dana. It was like they had to paint the Scoobies as no longer loyal to the fight to make Angel, and the W&H decision, look better. Even if they started trusting Andrew more in the time after the fall of Sunnydale, given canon I do not see Giles trusting Andrew to be able to deal with Angel effectively given his flights of fancy and exaggeration tendencies.

(sorry, I get a little ranty about the end of Angel)
Comments from author:
Look at it this way, they knew they were sending somebody into the mouth of the beast. Now would you want to send somebody important to the organization like Giles, Willow or Buffy? Or a trainee like Andrew? It's possible that if it weren't for the bad blood between Xander and Angel, he might have been sent instead.

So what was happening in the comics that don't exist in this universe? :)
I never did quite get the timelines aligned in my mind.
Nice work in showing that there is always more going on than we know and miscommuincation is much easier than communication.
Comments from author:
I don't know what was happening 'cause I've never read them. It's just that when I write something post-'Chosen' that portray characters a certain way, reviewers will feel they have to tell me how I'm wrong, using the comics as evidence. Even when I say in the A/Ns that the story is not compliant with them. Hoping that by putting the note in bold will help.
