Review of chapter "Revelations" from cptquinn
Review:
More? PLEASE? =p
Comments from author:
I'll try to get back to this story as soon as I can. I'll be honest, though: my Muse is leading me along paths that don't involve this particular story. At least for now. I'll try to get back to it as soon as I can, though.

Awesomeness. "Mr. Giles... I'll be back." LOL

Obviously Willow plays some important part in stopping Skynet if they sent a Terminator back for her. We never got to Buffy Summers, but Xander isn't on his list? I'm kinda sad at that. Or maybe they just didn't have his full name?

I read some of the comments: -I guess you'd have to kill off Jesse pretty soon. Xander, Willow and Jesse were all very tight before he died.

-As far as Xander's treatment of Angel. I read a fic a while back that attributed it to Xander having to kill Jesse. He was angry that Angel got a second chance while Jesse did not. If you take that as true, then Xander might be more accepting of Angel if Jesse is never turned and just dies. Edit: Especially if he were killed by a Terminator, then his anger might shift to Cameron.

Keep up the good work.

Comments from author:
Hey there. Thanks for your review. Jesse will be dying rather soon, most likely. I didn't write him in any of the scenes so far because quite frankly, I never got a firm grip on his character, and he always seemed very much like a 'red shirt' to me. Most of the reaction that Xander and Willow have given to his death have been in fanfics, as opposed to the show itself. Not that it's a bad idea, but I kind of feel as though Jesse would have made a not-very-good Scooby. So, for any Jesse fans out there, his death will be noted, but it will not likely be as big of a thing as it is in many other fics.

In regards to Xander's treatment of Angel, I think it was more that he felt threatened in his advances towards Buffy. With Cameron occupying his attention, maybe things will be different. Then again, a mysterious older guy interested in a friend who is protecting him could be seen as a threat. We shall see how things go.

Thanks for your support. I'll update when I can.

Review:
Oh I think Sarah and Giles are going to get along real well. I can just see her attitude leading him to let a bit of Ripper out early and let her know what it's like to have demons want to kill you because they like it rather than Terminators because they're programmed to.

edit: sorry, I thought my later comments wwould clear up that I meant them getting along real well as sarcastic. I think they'll probably be at each other's throats
Comments from author:
Heh. I suppose Sarah is kind of like a militant Jenny Calendar in some ways. They even look somewhat alike, I guess. I have thought about a Sarah/Giles relationship, but I'm reluctant to have Sarah love anyone besides Kyle Reese. That's a big tenet of Terminator canon, though I suppose a temporary Jenny/Sarah rivalry could be amusing. Something to think about, definitely.

Review:
Any chance of Cameron hooking herself up to a PC/terminal and 'showing' a video message from the future? ie the futureWillow with a message?
And hey--where's Jesse? The bestest friend of Willow/Xander?
I suppose Skynet could be a supercomputer possessed by the First Evil.... (if it's not Moloch etc).
Comments from author:
I don't think Cameron is going to be playing any messages from the future, though she probably could if she wanted to or had any messages to deliver.

As for Jesse, I guess I didn't really know what to do with him. He was really not much more than a red shirt, and I suppose I don't really know enough about him to treat him any differently. I suppose I could always have them say, "Oh my God! They killed Jesse!" "You bastards!" or something like that. *shrug*

I don't know if the First Evil could possess a supercomputer. I wonder if it can appear to Cameron, even, what with her not being alive. It did appear to Angel and Spike, though, so I suppose it could appear to a machine. Definitely something to think about.

Review:
So... just to confirm I've understood the situation correctly, in a Buffy-VS-Cameron match-up, Cameron can take more damage but Buffy's more agile?

That established, the character dynamics you've created here seem to be effective so far, and the idea of Skynet having an interest in Willow for something she'll do in the future definitely creates some interesting ideas about how the two groups will interact.

On the topic of interaction, any chance that Cameron's presence as a member of a generally hostile 'species' (For lack of a better term) who goes against the normal M.O. of her 'peers' will encourage Xander to treat Angel slightly better when he shows up?

Keep up the good work; can't wait for more!
Comments from author:
I have often speculated on the Buffy vs Cameron match-up. On the one hand, Buffy has taken on robots before over the course of the series. On the other hand, those were not built specifically for combat. I think Slayers do get stronger as they age (not entirely sure about that), so I imagine that even if Buffy is not currently as resilient as a Terminator, she might be some day.

Also of note: Cameron is primarily an infiltration unit. She's not meant to fight other machines, at the very least. A larger Terminator might be stronger, but Cameron is probably more intuitive than the average machine. Bottom line, I don't know who'd come out on top between Buffy and Cameron. I'm gonna guess Cameron as of right now, but that might change.

I'm glad you think the character dynamics are working. Good to know that I've done something right. And I do think that Cameron's presence may have an impact on Xander's treatment of Angel, at least at first. As I recall, Xander was more upset that Buffy was interested in another guy before they even knew he was a vampire. With Cameron holding his attention to some extent, that may change. As for once they discover he's a vampire, I don't know. Machines can be reprogrammed. Vampires can't (as far as he knows).

Thanks again for the kind words. I'll do my best to keep it up to snuff.

Love the first three chapters. Nice to see a intro story with it starting at the start of the series.
Comments from author:
Hey there. Thanks for that. Always good to know that work is appreciated. I have the fourth chapter written, but my muse is very picky with when she visits me. I'll try to convince her to help me get out chapter five quickly. I hope you continue to read and enjoy.

Review of chapter "Arrival" from MarcusSLazarus
Review:
Should be interesting to see how this goes, I'll give you that for nothing.

So, just out of curiosity, are Moloch or Adam going to be involved in Skynet's origin, or is there something else that I'm missing?

That said, if you're taking votes on a final pairing, I'd prefer John/Cameron; I always liked the slight 'irony' of that relationship.

Keep up the good work!
Comments from author:
Hey there. Thanks for the review. I do have a definite plan for the origins of Skynet, and it isn't one of the more obvious things. Not Moloch or Adam or Warren. I'm thinking that those may play a smaller role, but probably more in a character development capacity.

As for the romance, I am also a huge John/Cameron fan, but the TSCC universe doesn't leave room for a lot of competition in the way of girls his age. I'm thinking that there will be some John/Buffy bonding, but not on a romantic level. More like two Chosen Ones lamenting how they suffer.

Thanks again for the review. Hope you're well.

Review of chapter "Arrival" from AllenPitt
Review:
Interesting premise, especially arriving before the series started. And Cameron knows about Buffy (reference to 1630 R)... maybe she has info from a scooby that survived to post Judgment Day? So there might be precise instructions on exactly when & how to intervene in the timeline?
Most obvious possibilities on Skynet startup would be Moloch, with Ted after that... then Warren's bots I suppose. Ted really does look like a Terminator, doesn't he?
Comments from author:
Hey there. Thanks for the comments. Always good to have an interested reader. I don't know if my comments for other reviews are visible to everyone, but the obvious route of Moloch or Ted, Warren or Adam, those aren't the true origin of Skynet. The Initiative might play a role of some sort, but I haven't determined what yet.

As for arriving pre-series, there will only be one more chapter before Buffy enters the picture. I just finished chapter four today, and this is my first story on TTH, so I still need to get used to how to upload everything properly. If only italics would copy along with the text. *sigh*

Thanks for your review. I'll try to post the newer chapters ASAP. I hope you enjoy what's to come.
