Review of chapter "Sail Away. Sail Away..." from Luna
Review:
“Oh good,” said Gimli, his voice dripping sarcasm. --- THIS HAD ME BUST OUT LAUGHING! hahaha love grouchy gimli!
This story was truly beautiful. I love that Legolas is moving forward in the romance department. Such a lovely tale!
Comments from author:
I'm glad youliked that line - it amused me when I wrote it. I do rather like writing grumpy grouchy Gimli - and gruffly happy and friendly Gimli too - but somehow he only gets tiny bit parts in what I write.
Legolas' romance will get there eventually - but, of course, they've got plenty of time!
Again, I always love it when you tie different stories together!

I'll tell you a secret- I knew this was going to happen back when I had Haldirin leave the bow behind...it's been sitting there in Rohan waiting for the return journey ever since!
I always think of her has being very logical - and all the reasons given for why Celeborn didn't sail with his wife in the original book, really don't hold water. And it wasn't all that difficult for her to come up with good reasons, apart from him, why there was no need for the two of them to remain behind for ever. All she has to do now is hope they took notice!
Awwwwww I really like that pairing! Albeit a bit odd, since Dawn is his 'sister' and thus Ithilienne is his 'niece' but I can deal since its not blood :)
Comments from author:
Legolas once said to his father that he had felt the need to protect Dawn ever since he first saw her; that he felt drawn to her, but never in a sexual way. He thought it was probably the Valar keeping their Key safe - but what if his feeling that he had to keep her safe was a form of foresight because she was to be the mother of his 'intended', I wondered...
And of course there is room for worries and disagreements about the odd family dynamics it will cause - and the possibilities of others, in the West, getting very confused about it all....

*whimpers* Oh :(
*wipes away tears*
Comments from author:
Of course we know this is going to happen - it was in the epilogue of Return of the Key - but it was both interesting and sad to look at it from the Middle Earth side of the window, so to speak.

Review:
Rating your work a ten feels so terribly inadequate to describe the quality of the stories you tell. Perhaps the more telling truth is the fact that this series is the only one here on TtH that I've actually taken the time to download, in its entirety, in e-book form and put on both my iPad and my Kindle so that I always have it at hand, even when I don't have internet access.
I truly love the stories you have shared with us and I eagerly await the next installation in this fantastic series.
Comments from author:
Thank you so much - I really am so flattered to think you have them on your iPad and Kindle. There are certainly more episodes to come - a couple of 'Small Returns' next I think.

That was a lovely story. Hope we'll see more of Tindome.
Comments from author:
Thank you. And there will certainly be more of her - there is the whole 'Life in the West' - as well as the opening left at the end of Return of The Key where she tries to contact Spike...

Oh, whimper whimper. You always have me captivated. Whenever somebody asks for fic recs I point them towards this series. It has greatly influenced so much of my own writing. I never want this series to end. I love it all so much.
If you ever feel inspired, I'd love to read a short story about Tindome having either of her babies. Was Rumil allowed in the room, or only women? Were the twins there?
I will read anything you set in this verse. I adore it, and you for writing it. Thank you for releasing this beautiful world from your soul. It is a true gift. I love it so very, very much.
Comments from author:
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the lovely compliments.
There are so many places for new stories - babies might well become a topic for one.
Currently there are a couple of 'shorts' to add to Small Returns - one already written and one half written. And there is the prologue of an epic on my hard drive; the rest of the story is in bits in my mind, and in outline, and I will get on with it when the opening chapter comes to me! I always start to write at the beginning and keep going until the end, and I'm not sure quite where to start this one.

I love this story so much. I can't wait for more. It feels like it's taking forever to update. Please don't leave me hanging so long next time! (I wouldn't normally beg, but you already mentioned it's either finished or mostly finished)
Please please please update soon!!!

I promise that I will post the next, and last, chapter next Monday. Friday to Sunday is going to be exceeding hectic off-line but I will have time to add the artwork, and the link to the music, for Monday.
