Review of chapter "a brighter day is coming my way" from ShyBob
Review:
I'd missed it before because it was in literature not movies (guess the mods will need a new category soon). Good job with the tone and pacing of the piece. I love the way it fits seamlessly into canon for both.

This is a very good story! In her own way, Katniss is a Slayer. Hopefully, Dawn will be able to help Katniss overthrow the Panem government...

Review of chapter "a brighter day is coming my way" from DarthTenebrus
Review:
Sad and alone, Eos/Dawn has made use of her considerable wealth and influence to sponsor just the right person. Her note to Katniss after the Games had ended suggested to me at first that Katniss would somehow become the first Slayer in centuries since the wars and plagues had devastated the Earth and cut it off forever from the source of magic, but I realize now that it was meant to inspire and empower her in ways that require no magic or esoteric energies. From Hunger Games victor to Rebel leader, Katniss was always meant to be the long-suffering hero who had no idea how strong she really was, and so it took no great effort on Dawn's part, save for the sponsorship and the little things afterwards, to guide and encourage Katniss toward taking up the aforementioned mantle of leadership. The numerous hardships and horrors Katniss suffers ever afterward simply strengthen her resolve, and harden and refine it like steel.

I find it interesting that Dawn would choose a name from Greek culture instead of going with the trend and selecting a Roman name like all the Capitol residents. Perhaps that, too, is some small rebellion on Dawn's part, like her choice of dressing simply and minimizing her daily adornments? Whatever the case, I hope there is some sort of sequel to this to be posted soon...

I've just been dying to see some Hunger Games cross overs. I love the whole concept you've come up with here, you write all the characters very well. Also loved the bit of Greek mythology, Eos' was always one of my favourite stories.

I hope inspiration hits and you add more to this :)
Comments from author:
I'd read somewhere that Suzanne Collins had drawn heavily on Rome to create the Capitol, and so I figured Dawn would want to rebel against that a little and draw inspiration from a different source to hide who she was.

I'm so glad you've enjoyed the story! It's fun to write, and I think the addition of somebody like Dawn could lead to very interesting outcomes, wouldn't you agree? Thanks for the review!

Love the last line beyond words. I'm so thankful that you added to the story! Wonderful job :)

Will there be any more? I hope so! And if you do write more in this verse, let me just say that "May the odds be EVER in your favor!" ;)
Comments from author:
Awww, thank you! I'm so glad that people are enjoying this verse (and thank you for the rec!), and want to see more. I need to re-read the series at some point to figure out where I might want to go with this, but I'm definitely open to continuing. Glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for wishing the odds to be in my favor. :)

Yay!! You've add a another chapter to this! It was really good too - I especially loved the ending and how you left it open for possibly more in the future. Great job.

Thanks! :)

Darn you, ending it there! (And by 'there', I mean ending at all, and so soon!) I hope you write a sequel or something to this, because I loved it! The closest I've ever gotten to writing Hunger Games is a fanart picture I'm rather proud of, but you nailed it!

Review of chapter "Hope in the Darkest Days" from LeaFairy
Review:
This was utterly fascinating. I really liked Dawn and her thoughts in this - she's so old and weary, just barely living anymore, but with some spark of life (and hope) coming back at the end. Nicely done!

Fantastic work on this ficlet!!
Comments from author:
:) Thanks! I do like Dawn as a character, and I think that her living all this time and seeing everything crumble around her, only to have her hope reignited by seeing Katniss volunteer in her sister's stead was an interesting premise. I'm glad you enjoyed this and thank you for the review!

There's definitely going to be more. I just need to wait for Catching Fire to arrive so I can read it to figure out how I'm going to expand this verse. Thanks for the review!

Review:
I LOVE this idea. Brilliant! Especially with the way the comics ended. I'm tired or I would write something more eloquent, but I would absolutely *love* to see this fleshed out - or just the mere idea of the Hunger Games verse taking place post-Seed business in Buffy.

Great job!
Comments from author:
:D I'm glad you enjoyed it! I didn't really follow the comics all that much, but I was reading The Hunger Games and it made sense that this would be a world cut off from magic because of the events in Season 8. I definitely want to play more in this verse and how Dawn fits in.

Thanks for the rec, Luna!
