Review of chapter "When It Goes Bad" from DarthTenebrus
Review:
Very vivid. I guess it just goes to say that whether in real life or in fiction (depending on which dimension you hail from), money makes the world go round, and money turns even the most observant and forthright head from atrocity at the family level.

The picture is one of horror and despair, but it is a very detailed, lifelike picture, having the effect of the reader sympathizing with the characters. Well done.

Oh no poor Aaron! I hope Andrew takes him out of that household asap. Please update some more soon

Thanks for the review. I will update this eventually. Unfortunately, first I have to figure out what I was doing with it.

Review of chapter "Lost and Found Again" from julz
Review:
eugh child abuse makes me feel sick, but it's not like I expected it to stop in the story. You write really well and your characters are engaging. I know that this is picking at your story, but after 60 years in a past life that Andrew supposedly remembers very well, wouldn't he have had enough experience to realize abuse doesn't just end? I sound judgmental, but while an actual child cannot be expected to protect the other children around him, adults are expected to protect the children around them and 60 counts as an adult. please reply.
Comments from author:
Thank you for the review. I appreciate hearing (reading?) other thoughts on it.

It disgusts me as well. Yes, 60 counts as an adult and he should have tried to protect Aaron better. I really don't have a reason for him not to aside from 'for all that he remembers being 60, physically he's too young to get custody/be taken seriously' and 'I had a plan for the story that required the long-term abuse'.

If you have any other questions/comments/concerns, I'd be happy to explain in as much detail as I can. Thanks again for your review.

this chapter ties up with the rest of the series so yay.

Poor Aaron at least Andrew will be there for new years.

Please let Andrew take him away.

Review of chapter "Lost and Found Again" from WolfWriter
Review:
Okay, something needs to be done about these child abusers. If the local cops won't help, go to the DA, or to the FBI, or better yet, rat them out to the President of the United States.

Overkill? Maybe, but if the local cops don't help, the doctors don't help, and the local politicians don't help, go straight to the top.

Or barring that, get Willow in on the case, or have Jack go medieval on their asses.

I'm sorry that I haven't chimed in before, I just can't stand to read stories that have child abuse in them, where the abusers get off with no consequences.

Please tell me that a big smackdown is coming their way, either through Andrew or someone else.
Comments from author:
The parents have money and are covering it up. They are also training Aaron not to tell anyone. Andrew thinks it's over. No one else has any reason to think it should be taken further up.

I hate that child abuse happens as well, and I'm not saying there's no consequences, just that they're not happening yet.

Thanks for the review!

Review of chapter "Lost and Found Again" from Eureka
Review:
You do know that folks are gonna want to lynch you don't you?
You leave a cliff hanger and then tell us that you won't be back for a month...OHHH you have chutzpah don't you?
Plus the fact that you write Aaron being beat and possibly a broken arm and counting on Andrew to be there for Christmas to save him. Personally I think the dad needs to be taken out and beat to see how it feels.
Comments from author:
I honestly had no idea that would be considered a cliffhanger... Though I suppose it makes sense.

Thanks for the review, even if you had me a bit worried there at the beginning. Give me some time, and you'll see what happens to Earnest. Thanks again!

Review of chapter "Sharing a Secret" from SlowMercury
Review:
I very much like this history of Andrew with the Hotchners. He is a *much* better older brother than he got, and I'm glad Aaron has him as a protector and a role model. It's also a good thing Andrew's got all those memories to draw on, it might help him deal with the abuse because he's an adult, too, and not just a child.

So Andrew's telling Aaron his history? This is a good moment for it--Aaron's still young enough to believe, plus they've got the bodies of all those demons hanging around. And this will give Aaron experience in what happens to people's brains when there's magic involved, which can only be of the good in law enforcement.

I can't wait to see what happens next; please keep up the good work.
Comments from author:
Wow, thank you for such a well written and complete review!

Yes, his experiences have taught him how *not* to treat his brother, and I like to think Aaron had someone like him in the series, just because he turned out as well-adjusted as he did.

I hope I continue to entertain you with this! Here's hoping I can get the next chapter up soon. Thanks again!

Don't worry this chapter is excellent. Does a very good job of conveying frustration and hopelessness with Andrew trying to help.

Review of chapter "When It Goes Bad" from mackenziex
Review:
Actually, I think this chapter turned out really well. It feels right that even as little more than a baby Aaron has a "protect people" attitude, even if in this case it's "protect my brother". :)
Comments from author:
He did learn from someone protecting him, and I think (at least in this world) that seeing his protector injured for helping him would make him even less willing to back down when someone is being hurt (see the Reaper arc).

Thanks for the review, and I'm glad you liked it. Hopefully I continue to do this story justice!

Review of chapter "When It Goes Bad" from Toras
Review:
An interesting chapter. About the only nitpick I can see is that Andrew was always portrayed as a fair to middling mage. Presumably he got better with age, and as your story indicates he kept his memories I would expect that he still has all his magical knowledge. That being the case why hasn't he used it to protect Aaron?
Comments from author:
Good point. I could hand-wave it with 'He doesn't think about it', but to be honest I hadn't thought about it.

Let's go with: There would be serious repercussions (see all that happened to Willow after she started using magic on loved ones), including the possiblity the boys would be split up and sent to different homes, where the situation might be worse. Also, maybe his magic isn't that strong yet.

Thanks for the review, and for bringing up a possiblity I had missed.

Review of chapter "The Beginning of Everything" from WolfWriter
Review:
She better not turn into an abuser!

I bet she has Post Partum Depression or something that is making her hormones fluctuate to the point of going cuckoo.
Comments from author:
We already know at least one of Hotch's parents was abusive. It stands to reason that the other, if not outright abusive, at least enabled the abuse, judging from Hotch's speech to Perotta in season 1. However, I haven't decided yet which she is.

And yes, that is what's going on.

Thanks for the review. I hope you continue to enjoy this!
