Review of chapter "Chapter Two" from twlight
Review:
Interesting problem resulting from that stupid test. I have to agree with Xander about Buffy in the way that she was acting, though I do have to wonder why Giles didn't offer to show her how to fight so she doesn't kill herself. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment to this wonderful wonderful story whenever the muse for this story allows it.
Comments from author:
Giles is still trying to atone (at least in his mind) for his betrayal of Buffy to the Council, so he's not going to be doing or saying anything that she might take offense at. And since she's still acting like the Slayer in her head, he's trying to cushion her ultimate disappointment as best he can.

I've got the next chapter started, but my muse has been ignoring it lately, so I have no idea when it will be ready to post. ;-(

Review:
I'm reminded of the Wonder Woman 70's story arc where she lost her powers. She learned to fight again from a martial arts master.
Comments from author:
I'd forgotten about that, but it's a good comparison.

*If* Buffy decides she wants to continue fighting.

Wow, an excellent example of turnabout.
Comments from author:
Yep. Joss has always shown us that your wishes will eventually come back and bite you in the ass.

Buffy's derriere has teeth marks the size of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. ;-)

Review:
I always have a problem with people that somehow blame Buffy for being the slayer.

Was she given a choice at age 15?

So she was trying to cope with all of this while still being given no choice

Xander and Willow and the Rest had a choice; always did.

And in the end who acted better?

Clearly Buffy.

And also clearly it was Buffy who saved Xander many more times then he did her.

And Buffy also understands that she is forever the Slayer even without her powers.
ALWAYS a target

And once the Demons find out she is without her powers they will redouble their efforts
Somehow you think she does not realize that
Comments from author:
I haven't ever blamed Buffy for being the Slayer.

I blame her for acting like a self-centered, arrogant idiot who seems to think that she is entitled to tell people how they can act and what they can do, and ignores the fact that she has no authority, whatsoever, to do so.

And can you explain how Buffy acted better than any of the people who supported her, and took the same risks she did, but without the benefit of having superpowers like she did? Yes, they chose to help her in the battles she was fighting, and she never thanked them for putting themselves at risk for her. In fact, she often complained about them, and ignored the fact that they were helping her live a lot longer than she coudl have reasonably expected to achieve without their help.

The entire time she was the Slayer, Buffy was always complaining about having been Called and having to fight.

When Faith showed up, Buffy didn't see her as another person stuck in the same position she was in and which she complained constantly about, but instead, only saw her as an opportunity to get away from the fight and possibly allow Buffy to have the normal life she professed that she wanted.

And when she did lose her powers, all she did was complain about not having them.

Actually, that's not all that heroic.

Review:
Glad to see you updating some of your back catalogue. There is one question that I have to ask about this story. Is Buffy trying to regain her powers because the world needs a second Slayer or is it because she can't handle fighting Vampires and demons as a normal young woman? I hope to see more of this.
Comments from author:
Well initially, I think it's because Buffy's self-image is focused around the concept of her as a Slayer.

Once she gives it further thought, and some introspection, it's at least partially because she sees the need for additional fighters out on the battlefield.

Review:
Wonderful. Be careful what you wish for indeed. If she goes looking for something to restore her powers, i can see her taking up a Lara Croft type lifestyle, can't you? In any case, pounding it into her head that she has to relearn how to fight should be fun.
Comments from author:
With Buffy's current attitude, pounding it into her had might be *exactly* the method needed to teach her. ;-)

Review:
somewhat different. Always wondered about the drug used to take away the slayers powers- it had to be something magic or mystical to do so.

And of course Xander is as usual blind to the hypocrisy of his rant at Buffy. Considering how many times she had to save his butt because he tried to go hand to hand with vamps.

That is something that is interesting; it would not take the vamps long to realize Buffy is no longer the Slayer; and they will want revenge.
Comments from author:
First off, he wasn't ranting at Buffy, he was offering advice to someone who had almost gotten herself very seriously injured while patrolling, much in the same way she was prone to do to him. Does it make it less acceptable when the shoe is on the other foot?

And Xander is no more hypocritical than Buffy typically was, since he was correct about his and Willow's learning how to avoid getting beaten up by the vamps, and she was always accepting of them helping her out on patrol, unless it was somehow inconvenient for her - like when she was planning on meeting Angel on patrol for a 'romantic date' situation.

And with regard to your comment about Buffy saving his life so many times, I should also point that Xander saved Buffy's life numerous, even without possessing any superpowers (helping her escape from teh tunnel system when she was searching for Jesse; CPR in the Master's cave; preventing Angelus from turning her in the hospital; foiling Jack O'Toole's bomb attempt, among others), while Buffy didn't accomplish anything along those lines until after she was Chosen.

Review of chapter "Chapter Two" from Fayari
Review:
Buffy deserved it. An underqualified teenage girl who always proclaimed her desire for a normal life and yet lorded her power over others and had no desire to give it up.
Comments from author:
In her defense, she was acting perfectly in character for a mostly self-centered adolescent - which describes pretty much all adolescents.

Review:
glad that you added to this one.
The turn you took with it kind of surprised me as I thought that there would be at least 1 chapter where she reveled at being a regular girl before slaying issues came up. Wonder what the demon community will think when they realize she's powerless though.
Comments from author:
Actually, based on the show, Buffy didn't spend any time enjoying her non-Slayerness, and only seemed content when she regained her powers.

You're really reaching back into your files of unfinished stories.

Nice to see you working on them.

Xander was harsh but from how Buffy was acting on patrol, she needed harsh. Mules and 2x4's ya know.

So is Buffy going to do her search solo or will she have company from one or more of the gang? Ya know, just to keep her from doing anything too foolish.
Comments from author:
Yeah, I'm trying to work on my backlog of older stories.

As far as what Buffy's going to be doing, and how she's going to be doing it, i"m waiting for my muse to point me in a specific direction, because I see various ways that this could work out.
