Outstanding!! Xander used all his skills and knowledge in this one, as well as the Chaos magic to do what he does best - fight for his loved ones and snark up a storm.
The Wildfire Incident is pure Xander - he /knew/ he'd die if he used too much of the power, but it never even entered his mind to hesitate; he went all out to protect everyone left, and in doing so put the First Evil in the hurt locker for quite a while.
To be honest, the ending surprised me; figured it would be Xander's final battle, but sure glad it wasn't! Do wonder if anyone will realize just exactly what he did and the price he paid for their win; Dawn might, if she's researched the comics since the rather embarrassing night before this. Dunno if she had time, but it would've been a great way to take her mind off everything else...

Wow. Just... wow. Mauling the First was good, even great, but killing Spike, especially accidentally, was EPIC! Great way to end an amazing series. (Or not end?)
