Well done little ficlet! You captured Buffy and Spike's voice really well in the few lines you gave them. Love the line about Xander being surprised to die from old age.

Sounds like a plan to me. Let the demons have a irradiated wasteland. If it is done right; and by that I mean ground bursts everywhere, Earth will be pretty bad for any demons left.

Um...actually, that's not true. We have the nuclear firepower to do a fantastic job of scorching the surface of the planet and pretty much wiping out the biosphere, but blowing up the planet? We don't have that kind of firepower, regardless of what Hollywood portrays.
I really liked this. It's funny how whenever I see a fic like this (especially in the Firefly-verse), a particular song comes to mind. I wonder if you can guess the name of the song?
A fitting end to a career that started with a high school gym and then expanded first to a high school and then to a whole town. Talk about scorched Earth! Of course it isn't true that we have enough weapons to destroy the planet. We just have enough to wipe all human life off it, several times over. Lets hope that is enough here.
