It's really kind of sad that this is (seemingly) abandoned. It had the most rational premise of the 'Xander ends up as a child in Middle-Earth stories.

I fallen in love! lol I would say keep his name Xander. Changing it makes it feel like its not really Xander that the story's about. (6 only because you haven't updated in so long, otherwise a 10+)

He never liked his formal name of Alexander, but the Elves are all about the formal and ceremonial way of things. Perhaps he could have a similar name to Alexander. Ellexander? Elejandro? Illexzhan? Ellezhan?

I agree to a certain point. I never liked his formal name either because he feels more of a Xander and never an Alexander. Am I making sense? :) Anyways... yes the Elves are formal, that is one of the reasons I want an Elvish name for him!
Your ideas are great, I like! But I don't think your name suggestions are elvish enough names if you get my meaning? :)

Would a Xander by any other name be as sweet? I say no, have Xan insist on the name but has no idea why. Otherwise when I put the name Xander in an elf name generator I got Pallanén which I quite like (hits on the whole white Knight vibe) , and Elrond for Alexander though I assume the story will already have an Elrond. Interesting though if he would share a name with the king he could go by the human(?) name Alexander then Xander as a way of hanging on to a small piece of who he has always been. I know he doesn't remember for now, but shouldn't he keep just a small part of who he was?

I am agreeing with you on that Xander will insist that "Xander" will be as a nickname of some sort, that will become more frequent in the future. Will see how that gets. :)

But I still think he will have an official elvish name that will be used more often then Alexander on BTVS. Cause I don't know how the elves will pronounce Xander, it might take some time. Like the thought on your name suggestion with the white Knight vibe ;)

Good voices for your characters. I can't wait to see little Xander give all the staid elves a run for their money. I like the idea of some of his memory and characteristics still being a part of him. It's not elvish but I vote for Dìonadair- Gaelic for defender. It has an elvish feel to it and ties back to who and what he was in his former life and probably who he would always be.

If your having trouble coming up with original elven names i know of a site that has a name translator for both Hobbit and Elven names.

Amusingly enough, using this name translator on the name Alexander Harris comes up with 'Elrond Ar-Feiniel'.

Though using his full name i come up with 'Beren Ar-Feiniel' for Alexander Lavelle Harris by putting Lavelle in the top slot with his first name. Otherwise i'd get 'Elrond Mithrandír' if Lavelle is in the bottom slot. :)

Using this translator i'm thinking that you can come up with names for any original hobbit/elf you need by simply using your friends/family, or even people you like, such as actors. :)

Btw, Alexander Harris becomes the Hobbit 'Bulbo Grubb of Little Delving'. :) Or, 'Grigory Grubb of Little Delving' and 'Bulbo Boffin of Whitfurrows'. :):)

I myself become the following elves 'Golradir Séregon', 'Dínendal Séregon', 'Silinde Séregon', 'Dínendal Súrion', 'Golradir Súrion' by using various combinations of my name.
