I think this is the fourth or fifth time I've read this series. I spent 20 years in the USAF and you stories inspired me to read some of the WWII history. I found out that more Airmen in the bombers died than the number of Marines that died taking all those islands in the Pacific. Didn't find that much about fighter pilots, but I get side-tracked every time I search the net. I see that you intend to write a third story in this series. That's going to be hard since Wing Commanders don't do a lot of flying, except under very special circumstances. I still haven't figured out which story I like better, they are both so original and keep me interested even though I've read both several times.

If/When you get around to writing a third story I would like to see Buffy come in contact with that Stevens guy, the one that ripped her 'Top Gun' school to pieces and tried to get her and Barb black-balled with his performance reports and messing with their records.

If you never get around to writing a third story ... Thanks for the two stories you have written, they keep me occupied for a day every six months or so.

Excellent story, great plot, interesting POV, but seriously, just leaving it like that? What were you thinking? You need to write more, at least to where Buffy, Barb and Ben set themselves up and start up SSI or even the beginnings of it.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE dont leave us hanging like this! It could be classed as inhuman to do so.

I really hope you write more of this incredible series. Love your details. It's those little things that bring the story to life. The medal return, seduction, meeting Galand, flight test, etc. So much more to tell. Please.

I had to laugh, chortle, something at the ending. I really enjoyed reading this but I couldn't help thinking that Buffy had to have had some help adjusting to the military mindset from the power that be. The writing is great, love the conversations and details of everything that's happened to them and like another said before me, I like that the first person point of view of a companion to Buffy makes it work even better than if it were Buffy's point of view. I was a little surprised that you didn't mention Edwards although it hadn't been named such at that time (don't remember what it was called back then). I guess it would have been out of place, oh wait, I remember, Muroc Dry Lake is the location of the eventual Edwards AFB, the main western test base for the Air Force. I sure am looking forward to reading more of Barb's and Buffy's adventures.

I had so much fun reading these books, I just came to see if there was a third and was sadly disappointed. I really hope your muse wants to return to the story of Buffy and Barb. Such a good, fun filled romp!

This story (and series) took over my weekend. I seldom read first person stories because in fanfic that usually is a sign of a self insert and it tends not to be done all that well.

This was a brilliant exception.

I can't wait to see what comes next. I really have become addicted to this series.

Again, I'm amazed to have been so enthralled with a story that didn't involve a single character or precursor of a character from the series.

I am impressed and I don't impress easily.

My one criticism of your portayal of Buffy is that she would probably swear a little less than your Buffy. At first I thought she was 'too' feminist, but I realized that just by being a 2000s woman, she would come across as pretty radical. The world has changed a great deal in the half century since I was born and this story goes back even further and deals with what was then a bastion of 'male'.

Wow, this was incredible. From the description I didn't think I was going to enjoy this story, but I still tried it because it was recommended by someone I really respect.

And am I glad I did! I was barely capable of stopping once I had started to get into it. The pace is both fast and detailed, there are a lot of different types of conflict to keep a excellent amount of tension and resolution through the story without getting repetitive. The multitude of details really grounds this story into reality, and the very well thought out overall story structure keep things on tracks and the narration fluid.

This story is amazing, I am very much looking forward to a possible sequel. I really want to know how Buffy will make the jump from "pilot who likes to shoot stuff" to "CEO of a high tech company".

Wow. Awesome series. I just read the whole thing in one go. (staying up until 5 AM) I couldn't review at that time because I was just plain too tired.

However, your stories did give me some weird/cool dreams and I'd like to share an idea for an epilogue for this story. -- After the war Buffy and Barb get a visit from the German Colonel (I forget his name) who they fought in the 262s. Reminisce about the war and get thanked for returning the Kights Cross.

Anyway, think about it. Or maybe it inspires your muse in a different directing. Either way, I'll be happy.

Ahhhhhhhhhh!!! So good!!!! Sorry, but these stories really are Amazing. I would love to read another one about the jet fighter group and then one about the space progam (altho feel free to continue writing about wwII as long as the muse allows, buffy-ace Pilot is just so great i cant get enough) I really just want to know what your plans are, is there another in the works or not? If not thats fine i would just really like to know.

I'm hoping to continue the series, I have a vague outline of the next story but it needs more thought before I can start writing. Unfortunately real life keeps interfering and I'm not sure how long it will be.

I'm not very knowledgeable about aircraft and their usage and maintenance, but you managed to make this very entertaining series with all of the above incorporated in such a way I easily understude.

I would Love for you to add another story to this universe, but the 1st story gave such an amazing ending that I can live with you ending it here.

I will, however, admit I'd like to see this series through to the end of WWII.

while i had almost no comprehension on any of the technical stuff, your love of flying and planes was clear, and it made this series, these stories that much more enjoyable. it takes real writing talent to load a story w/ tech specs that many readers might not be familiar w/, and yet not losing the story-telling bit. you even had me doing Google searches on occasion :). anyways, thank you for writing this remarkable take on Buffy in an AU, it was original, it was entirely enjoyable, and if you plan on continuing this series, i'll be one of the many to waiting in anticipation.
