Review of chapter "Epilogue: Rise and Shine" from AllenPitt
Review:
On the plus front, maybe it won't be Fred who gets possessed this time. Long as it's someone we don't know.... as Gunn thought. Ouch.
Comments from author:
Lol.

Thanks for the review!

Remember to read the next fic in the series now. Tales from Oracle Securities.

Nice! I wonder if she will posses Fred again. I so love her in Fred but I love Fred as well. I am confused
Comments from author:
I can safely say that Fred will not be Illyria-Possessed in this universe.

More than that, I cannot say.

Review of chapter "Final Score" from AllenPitt
Review:
So--Harry has friends and allies, Diocletian didn't --that made the difference. Too many bad guys are lone wolves. The Master was dangerous in part because he was part of a large organization....
Gee, will Wesley really make that phone call & inform Buffy about Spike? And yes, hundreds, or thousands of slayers are going to upset the world magical power balance something fierce once they're established. No way to know how that will go. Buffy & company are into a 'see evil/kill evil' thing, and may not abide by Accords. Or magical Warden laws--Willow is under a death sentence for sure if they ever catch her. I'm surprised Amy hasn't dropped a dime on her already.
For that matter, Xander has done magic that got people killed ( Singing episode/Sweet). So has Giles...
Comments from author:
As stated, they don't /know/ about Willow, Amy has violated the Laws herself (see What she did to willow in season 7), and all Xander did was summon a demon. Technically, he's not responsible for Sweets's spell/curse/thing killing people. And similar with Giles.

There's a lot of handwaving going on, I admit, b/c I hardly want to see the cast of BtVS getting itself sliced and diced by the Wardens.

Thanks for the review!

Review:
Maybe Wes & Spike can eventually bond over a mutual hatred of Angel? I suppose Wesley envisions using him as an immaterial spy, and possibly info source? Not realizing Spike will eventually be able to develop some limited poltergeist-ic abilities? Gee, I sure hope he gets tangible eventually. I can just see Drusilla showing up & stealing the amulet. Thinking on it... I bet Lilah will figure a way to make him corporeal, calculating he will be a bit miffed at Wesley.
I'm glad there's a realization that there's an opportunity to hire some of the new slayers. 100% of them aren't going to join the new council, for sure.
Comments from author:
All very good points. But answers on those fronts will have to wait 'till the sequel. We're maybe 2 or three chapters till we're done with this one.

Thanks for the review!

Review of chapter "The Ball is in the Red Court" from AllenPitt
Review:
It's hard to find good self-sacrificing minions these days. The Master's minions would have sacrificed themselves for him. He had charisma. Or something.
Ok, Wes---heavy losses, but a real victory. Not bad for a day's work. Hopefully they all have a slightly better opinion of Faith now. She should consider calling in a few more slayers to help out, maybe as a long term thing eventually? i.e. some cooperation with Wes's group could really help.
Now he only has to deal with W&H, and a few other arch enemies, and he's home free! And, he needs to ramp up recruiting
Comments from author:
True. Evil does tend to consume its own.
And they do have a somewhat better view of Faith, yes. She'll be sticking around Chicago through the rest of this fic, and even into the sequel.

Yea, all they have left is Diocletian/Amy, W&H/Lilah (who they can't just kill *sigh*) and Gregory.

And yes, Wesley needs more forces. Marcone isn't going to be happy about those losses either.

Thanks for the review!

Review:
A couple of thoughts, not really from the story, but rather from other comments and your replies.

First, the White Council has no choice but to go after Willow. Not because she committed the crimes [though that's the excuse they'll use], but because she is proof that they are wrong, that someone can come back from breaking at least 2 of their laws, and [depending on your interpretation] possibly a third. And, she came back from it. Which means they are both wrong, and falling down on their task of policing the Wizard-born.

Second, you know, in a way, Willow, like Harry, made a union with a Genius Loci. Her's just happens to be Gaea, and considering the bonuses that Harry got from Demonreach, what did she gain from that? Consider, Harry and Demonreach are male, so the bonding was very masculine ['I punched him in the nose, and now we're friends], where Willow's was from shared grief with Gaea, and letting out all her emotions, a very feminine act. Or at least, that's my theory.

Plus, how would they react to the very visible signs of White Magic she would show?

As for this chapter, it was pretty much all combat, and as confusing as combat like this would be. Decent, but it isn't my personal cup of tea.

Still, thank you for taking the time to share this whole story with us, and I hope your muse keeps on producing!
Comments from author:
A.) Like I already said and established in-fic, they don't notice what goes on on Hellmouths. And more importantly: I'm not killing Willow. Not going to happen.

B.) That's your theory. Its not how I'm doing this crossover. Demonreach was a localized force. Gaea is the entire bloody earth. Willow just used the props and terminology of Wiccanism as a mental crutch for her spellcasting, the same way staffs, etc, are used by others - its even said some see their magic and their religion as intertwined.

Review:
I'm finding this story really...interesting. I'd like to say engaging and enjoyable, but I can't when I think Wesley is being a psycho asshole - and that's not a criticism. You've put a lot of thought and work into developing his character along those lines. While he's a psycho asshole he's an *understandable* psycho asshole. When I disagree with his opinions I know *why* he has the opinions he does.

I also find Amy, Dioclecian, Lilah, Denna, and Richard very interesting and complex villains. I think it's actually their dynamic I'm enjoying the most. They all have understandable and mostly sensible motivations, even when those motivations are based on insanity (Amy, Dioclecian).
Comments from author:
Its always the hardest when you disagree, but understand *why* they hold what they hold. But yes, Wesley is more than a little unstable at the moment, He will...moderate, a little, but after everything he's gone through, like you said, is understandable.

And don't worry. We'll be seeing a lot more of those villians before the end of the fic.

Review:
Lindsey at Sunnydale. Could be a number of things, but you know what I think he's there for.
** Lilah should consider the potential upside to 'all potentials are now slayers'. There's got to be at least a few who wouldn't mind earning a lot of money working for W&H. Though I suppose that might precipitate an attack by the new council once they found out...
Given a year to organize, though, and Faith could have a battalion with her on missions like this. ....
So... if it gets to the point where they become a problem. Pick up a phone, call the Wardens, and tell them about the Red Witch who used magic to kill people. That's an automatic death sentence, they'd definitely go after her. War between the slayers & White Council would be a neat outcome for her. She'd get a raise.

Interesting points.

I like the magic user he hired, that helped on the island. She's got my vote. Meanwhile, Wesley & Faith talking, that's good.
With so many watchers dead, it's almost surprising they're not trying to recruit W. Maybe Faith is there for two reasons--to make amends, and to evaluate him? (Anyone who only knew him in Sunnydale would say "Book smart, great for research, never put him in the field") But at this point even book-smart, i.e. fully trained Watcher Academy graduate, would be very rare.
Anyway. She's just what's needed to help with his little vampire problem. Meanwhile, Lindsay at the sinkhole? Digging up the amulet, fun. Maybe he'll send it to Wesley.
Comments from author:
Your vote is noted. Thanks.

And that thought did cross Faith's mind, but she'll quickly see he's not going to be amenable to changing organizations.

And no comment on the Lindsey at the sinkhole prediction.

Thanks for the review! Glad you liked it.
