I enjoyed this chapter a lot. The "Fake Out, Make Out" was fun to see and it actually seemed like it could be real under different circumstances.

Look forward to the next chapter and the team's adventure in Atlantis. (Why am I suddenly imaging Xander singing Under the Sea during the trip.)

You've never shown how much of a charge Xander keeps inside of him, but I figure pulling a Hulk on Namor with everything he's got and then while Namor is weakened having Ben beat his @$$ would do the trick.

Yeah, I actually think that it could have been if Xander and Jean had met naturally, but they didn't, so they don't really see each other as anything other than a means to various ends.

The Atlantis stuff should be interesting, though I'm still trying to work out how a fight scene between Namor and the Fantastic Five would go. I'm not yet sure whether or not Xander's presence will allow the team a victory.

Edit: Yeah, but the problem is that, at full strength, Ultimate-Namor barely seemed to feel Ben's punches and survived Johnny going supernova, so I'm not yet sure if Xander has enough power to take him out.

Well, in all fairness, at the moment Sue is trying to deal with the knowledge that her mother is actually alive and has abandoned her for 15 years. She really hasn't been taking it well and is venting, I guess, on people who don't deserve it, but she'll get better.

Man, it just seems like Xander and the ladies, he cannot help but be himself at times, even as I enjoyed the meet with jean, and then the meet with the Mum storm there, while getting onto Reed for tinkering again, so will look forward to what all will go wrong on this trip.

Dammit man! It's not fair! Jean and Xander would make such a nice couple!! :: le sigh:: great work as always, and always I'm looking for MOAR!

Sorry to disappoint, but I really don't see Xander and Jean as a romantic couple. Friends maybe, but Jean only goes for people like Scott and Logan, who she is completely certain have feelings for her. Now that I think about it, that's probably got something to do with her powers, but the point is that Xander just doesn't fit the bill. He's just plain not interested in anyone that has anyone or anything to do with 'the Ultimates'.

This story just keeps getting better and better! I love that you have Xander pretty much acclimated to the the superhero life, as well as being the PR workhorse that he got stuck as! Keep up the awesome work, I can't wait to see the effects of a lightning bug having to deal with the Atlanteans!

Always great to see an update and I love the little bit of friendship building up between Jean and Xander. It's not love at first sight or anything but honestly it's looking to be a more normal relationship than you usually see in the Xmen world. I swear all of Jean's normal relationships are lust filled burst of love and angst. They just shift from hate, jealousy, love and forgiveness and back again.

As for Sue's mom if there isn't an official name listed some where like Wikipedia I would just call her Jane or something. Everyone else in the family has a really traditional American name, ie Susan, Johnny etc. It would fit and it's not like it's a huge deal either way.

Yeah, a normal relationship maybe, but that's exactly the reason why it can't last in a comic-book universe. Besides, at this point it's barely a friendship, though the dialogue between Jean and Xander is fun to write. You rarely get a chance to see two characters given the ability to say whatever they want to each other without filtering something for fear of repercussions.

to bad this isnt an actual jean/xander pairings. i like that pairing
