Edit: Hell yeah. A bit of Ripper in the Watcher would have been a great character and frankly would have been much more realistic for that job.

I always thought that the show would have been a lot better if they allowed Giles to be more of the 'Hardman' he was in his youth when dealing with the often self-absorbed actions of his slayer.

Great until the end. Angelus and Angel are two different beings and once again the matter gets tangled up when it shouldn't be.

Good job, I always kinda wished that they would have listened to Xander in regards to restoring Angel's soul, but I like that you had Giles finally stand up to Buffy.
I was thinking about it though, and I don't think what they meant by soul is what we usually think it means. What I mean is that with Angel yes there is definitely a personality switch between Angel and Angelus. But both Spike and Darla I guess got back their souls, Spike by the trials and Darla by being turned human again, and they IMO didn't really act differently when they had souls than when they didn't. I personally think the souls that they were talking about in both series was more along the lines of a conscience. I could very easily see Liam acting like Angelus if he lost his conscience, and then when its restored to him changing his ways over the horror of what he had actually done. I don't know, what do you think?

It's nice ro see Buffy make the right choice in a fic for once rather than spout mindless teenage true love crap. This will help her grow as a character in the long run.

I have some ideas for follow up stories. One of how Buffy deals with her grief and another about who The Powers choose to become their Champion in LA. But it's up to my muse and work schedule if they ever get written.

Originally it was going to be a multi-chapter story showing what could have happened after Angel/Angelus's demise but I decided to end it there. But thank you for reveiwing, I appreciate it.
