Review of chapter "Chapter 15 - What of the Slayer?" from WhippingDawn
Review:
"They want to basically turn Buffy into Darth Vader!" he said.

Seems to be exactly that actually! Or a Borg Jedi maybe? Anyway, another spectacular chapter!

ANSWER: Not asking for clues here, but I'm starting to hope the last chapter of the saga will be "Return of the Scoobies"...

Hey, a guy can dream! Oh well.
Comments from author:
Hell no, they didn't have any intent of making her capable of producing Borg nanites; they were trying to save her life and in the process she became something similar to what Vader had been, in a physical sense only though.

Her strength and agility have been accelerated beyond Slayer levels, and she can now uplink to computers and Internet terminals by mere force of will. Her senses are enhanced to a par with Vader's, but she is neither Jedi nor Sith. She is a cyborg Slayer, a mystically-enhanced cybernetic organism, and her friends will see that once she gets over the trauma of both losing her sister to the dark side and becoming what she now is, Buffy has entered a new realm of possibilities that nobody can yet comprehend.

Review of chapter "Chapter 12 - Loose Ends...." from WhippingDawn
Review:
Damn, the little geek really was tortured to death... At least the others died fighting (or trying to). But Andrew's killing was really vicious.

UPDATE: Hell yeah the fight was epic! But at least Faith died fighting. The poor little nerd couldn't even defend himself.
Comments from author:
How about that friggin' lightsaber fight tween Dawn and Faith?! Huh? :-D:-D:-D

Oh wait! This ain't Buffy's little sister anymore, this is a Dark Lord of the Sith named Darth Vastia. But no, the kill was quick and clean; everything up to it was torture, though...

Review of chapter "Chapter 4 - Interrogation" from WhippingDawn
Review:
Wow. Poor Mister Meat, I guess he didn't have a heavy meal before he met Little Dawnie, or she wouldn't have missed noticing his new aroma...

A very strong chapter. Clearly this is not Dawn anymore, but "someone" else. I'm starting to like it even better than I remember liking it the first time.

Truly a great story.

REPLY TO YOUR ANSWER: Why am I hearing in my head the sinister and thunderous cackle of a Master of the Universe of something?

MWHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!
Comments from author:
Ah, yes....the unmistakable stink of fear. This evil woman that used to call herself Dawn did play her role masterfully, didn't she?

I did enjoy writing this chapter. But if you think it's dark now....you have seen nothing yet....NOTHING....

Review of chapter "Chapter 1- FIVE YEARS LATER" from WhippingDawn
Review:
As promised, my opinion. Brilliant first chapter, and huge plot twist! I'm starting to remember a few details from my first reading, and I'm not going to wait too long before I go to the next chapter.

Oh I like it!
Comments from author:
Yesss...this sets the stage rather nicely, don't you think, mon ami? Bonne chance avec l'otre du libre...

Review of chapter "Epilogue - Looking Forward..." from Harry
Review:
Sounds like Buffy has become a cross between Luke Skywalker and Vader. But, such a combo is what is needed to destroy Darth Hera and Darth Vistia. That and time. Sooner or later, the Sith will make a mistake and then the new line of slayers/Jedi will arise to stop the for good.
Comments from author:
Liked that, did you? Well, the next one's got some to go still, kinda writing it as the ideas occur to me, don't even know yet if I'm gonna write the rise of the Empire into this book or the next one, and of course real life keeps butting in so please be patient. The penultimate chapter in Balance of Powers is getting new material added to it so you may have to read it several times to stay caught up. In the meantime" you may want to read "Fall or the Republic" by grd, I've tried to keep it alive and kicking, it's a xover. with Star Wars Ans Stargate SG-1, Xander-centered and he's the bad Guy, a Sith Lord called Darth Mortalis with all the memories and knowledge of Darth Vader...

Review of chapter "Chapter 10 - The Headquarters is Sacked" from Harry
Review:
I have only one thing to say about the story so far: SITH! When you take Dawn and Red down the Dark Path together, LOOK OUT! This story is FANTASTIC so far! Now that the carnage is just about done, its time to gather the forces of light somewhere, train and hope to raise someone to send Darth Sidious (Willow) and Darth Vader (Dawn) to meet their fate!

You still have this at the end of website item 15 (your chapter 14).

*This chapter is not yet complete. Please be patient and keep reading, and keep sending the reviews! You may also wish to check out a new story I've started, based on "1984" by George Orwell, in the Literature-Classics section*
Comments from author:
Oops! LOL yes it's finished, I'll go back and edit that out of there for you, thanks! Did you like the story overall? If so, I'd like your help with the next one in the series, "Balance of Power." Let me know if that's something you can do...

Review of chapter "Chapter 14 - Shock and Awe" from Knightmare
Review:
Hello again, sorry it's been a while. I have been following your story and so far the shocks just keep on coming from Faith's cold blooded murder to the rape and killing of Andrew. (Though it couldn't happen to a nice guy. I hated that prick.) At this point in time I don't see how Xander and Giles along with the vampires have a pray of stopping the Uber witches short of using a nuclear missile against them and even then it might not be enough. They might as well gather what forces they have left and open a portal to a alternate universe to escape. Their world is lost. Xander is extreme danger because Willow will be coming for him come hell and high water to make him her bosom buddy and I don't mean that in a good way. Like Chucky said in Child's Play-" We'll be friends to the end, hidi ho!"
Comments from author:
Things have changed between Xander and Willow AKA Darth Hera in that he cannot imagine ever having been her friend now, so yes, he would be in terrible danger if the Sith Master were to ever set her sights on him. She and Darth Vastia have together become a very great threat, to quote a Jedi Master, and Xan the Man has his work cut out for him now...to defeat them, he may need the help of the Powers That Be...

As for Andrew, maybe he didn't enjoy much popularity among our readership, but you have to admit he did provide no less than comic relief, which is grossly underrated, in my view. You may have noticed I wrote something of a more mature, more realistic Andrew in my story, yes?

Review of chapter "Chapter 14 - Shock and Awe" from grd
Review:
Eager to see what Xan comes up with to counter rhe "Empress".
Comments from author:
Aren't we getting a little ahead of ourselves? Any diabolical being with super powers and designs on world domination knows you have to take things one step at a time...

In the meantime, let's see how long it takes Xan the Man to come out of his funk and do his Watcherly best to restore the Slayer line...

Thanks for the review! Keep reading true believer...

Update 25APR2012

Working on epilogue now, would like a thought or two for a plot and title for Part Two of my little trilogy...

Review of chapter "Chapter 11 - Death and Rebirth" from Gideon
Review:
I'm glad Faith at least tried to deny information to their enemies. Doing it with a lightsaber would have been fun! You have it exactly wrong about the effect of a lightsaber on flesh though. Cauterize is defined as burning closed a wound or blood vessel. There would be little or no blood released if someone was killed with a lightsaber.
Comments from author:
LOL, glad you reminded me, in my military days I was told during first aid training that when someone loses a limb the blood vessels will constrict to prevent massive blood loss, but eventually they will begin to relax, thus the need for a tourniquet. I was simply going off that assumption. I will reedit that and try to correct it, ok ? Hope you enjoy the fight between Faith and Dawn, or whoever she chooses to call herself now

Review of chapter "Chapter 8 - Casualty Reports" from Gideon
Review:
Some very high casualty rates there. I'm a bit disappointed that the Slayers are not putting up a bit more of a fight, they do not seem to have been trained to expect the unexpected. And Willow is still spying on their innermost council. That can't be good. At least Giles and Xander are away from the main compound so they may survive, for whatever good it may do them :(
Comments from author:
Most of them were new Slayers called during the incident with the First Evil toward the end of Season 7 of the series, they would have no way of knowing what to look for. Only the original Scoobies would know anything about Project Adam or the Initiative, and Faith had been in a coma from being knifed in the gut by Buffy during the fight with the Sunnydale Mayor just before his Ascension, so yeah, they would have no idea to expect something resembling an idea out of Star Wars, and their new enemies were born with the knowledge and skill to pull off this kind of ambush. The new Slayers would not have stood much of a chance, let's hope the rest of them can stand their ground once they realize what's coming their way. They still don't understand what's going on, but knowing more now than they did will give them a bit more of an edge.

As for Giles and Xander, they managed to get away just in the nick of time, and when they get to New Zealand, they will find more than they bargained for. Things are going to change big time for them. Thanks for the input, you should be one of my beta readers....

Review of chapter "Chapter 7 - Rise of the Clones" from Knightmare
Review:
Damn, Willow is ambitious! Raising a army of ADAM clones is one I didn't see coming but then again Willow was always a overachiever. Looks like the Watcher's Council is about to be burned into the ground. I wonder why Xander is not noticing the patterns or noticing that Dawn is lying and has been corrupted. Of all the Scoobies, he has always been the most perceptive of them. He is called the One-Who-Sees. A title he may never have liked but one that is appropriate. On another note the murder of Buffy was brutal and by her sister no less. At least Buffy is at peace now and reunited with her mother once again. She suffered so much in her short life from a calling she never wanted to seeing friends and loved ones die in front of her. It must break her heart now to watch her sister, the person she loved most in life and once willingly gave her life for and one of her best and dearest friends who has been with her since the very beginning plunge the world into eternal darkness. A world she fought and gave her life for so many times to keep safe and never really was thanked by anyone. There is one thing to remember though and one Willow and Dawn might overlook. Just because somebody has died doesn't mean it's not possible to come back.
Comments from author:
That's one long review, thanks for it, couple of questions, though. How can we be sure she's actually dead? And what was Dr. Walsh's code for the Adam project? I forgot, else I would have made mention of it in the chapter for credibility, I will do a reedit to work that in. Thanks again, Ii wonder if you would mind being a beta reader for this tale...

Review of chapter "Chapter 5 - Ruminations on Power and Darkness" from Gideon
Review:
I wonder if there is anyone left who can reach Dawn? Vader was eventually reached by his son but Buffy was Dawn's only realtive and she has already been disposed of. What hope is there that anyone else could oppose her?
i wonder if Willow is planning to have Dawn kill Xander because she can't do it herself?
Comments from author:
Idon't think you have to worry about Xander. Just keep on reading, true believer, and you won't be disappointed. And keep sending those sweet reviews.
