Review of chapter "Episode Thirteen" from JediKnight
I'd have thought Mack had mor morals than that.
Comments from author:
Mack's a 16, maybe 17 year old kid who's just had the only way that he can get out in life seemingly taken away from him. He's a good kid, but sometimes, if you put enough pressure on them, even good kids can get angry and let hatred rule them. It has little to do with how many or what type of morals one has.

I can only once again say, Wow! This is some serious stuff. You've turned a cynical animated comedy into a real slice-of-life story. I must say I really like the turnaround Quinn is going through. Jane's "cowardice" was so very real too. Keep up the great work.

Review of chapter "Episode Thirteen" from (Past Donor)wozwashi
A bit of a jarring ending, but considering how reviled they must be not entirely unexpected.

I can buy Mack being in on it because his future just went down in flames. The thing that sold me though is that Kevin wasn't there. I never had the impression that there was a mean bone in his body. Vacuous air head yes, real capacity for anger or hate not so much. QB is his identity not a means to an end like the team was for Mack.

Review of chapter "Episode Thirteen" from CrystalBlaze
As AUs go, this is superb and believable.

I imagine Mack's being one of the assaulters is a shock for many readers, but.. and here's the thing.. he's human.

He's been an athletic student that kept his grades up and tried to stay moral about it, but in the final analysis, he felt that his method of coping just got blown out of the water, and that his friends, most of whome were on a team, were ruined.

How did Tommy Lee Jones put it as Kay? "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it..."

Too much of the group association and his emotions drove him to this.

It happens. And that's a true shame.
Comments from author:
Well, and that he's more of a kid than he (and we) would like to think.

Review of chapter "Episode Four" from CrystalBlaze
"I just keep telling myself that Erin hasn't had the advantages our girls have."

Quinn and Daria looked at each other. "Advantages?" Quinn asked quietly.

Daria shrugged her shoulders. "You got me."

Daria is, in my view, being ironic and literal. Quinn and she DO have each other, wheras that control game of the Mother Barksdale's drove Rita, Helen, and Amy apart.
Comments from author:
Um, as this is part of the dialogue that I took from the show itself, the intonation says that she was using it in the sense of, "I don't know," (because she stressed the word, "got") rather than the literal sense (where she would have stressed the word, "me"). Also, at this point in canon, the sisters would have been a bit battling, themselves.

The fact is, in this fic, she does know that Helen doesn't need to crawl or fight for anything from "Mother," and she tells her so; also, the sisters have managed to fit what their goals are much better than in canon.

So you're wrong, but you're right, too. Having said that, in this fic you're wrong, too, because the Barksdale sisters begin to knit things up here, as well.

Ain't fanfic fun? ;)

Review of chapter "Episode Thirteen" from lunalurker
Wow, this got dark fast. Um, to put it lightly, canon has been left behind with ever increasing speed. Which i expected, but not so abruptly fast. Still hooked, though.
Really, Mack? Really?
Comments from author:
Yeah, Mack had seen what he had focused on as his only way out of his life fall down around his shoulders. Unlike how he usually is, he then pointed at Jane and said, in effect, "you ruined it all!" Not a normal Mack, but as he sees it, his world is being destroyed.
