Review of chapter "Tuesdays... Or How It All Began" from HebiR
Review:
LOVED IT! And it led me to another thought: perhaps Dawn (or some other Summers) drew the wrath of the angel Castiel in a Supernatural crossover.

Review of chapter "Tuesdays... Or How It All Began" from Gideon
Review:
Fantastic! I thought that Dawn must have had some bad influences in her early years and St Trinians would provide those in spades. The curse was just perfect, especially the bit about Tuesdays :)
Comments from author:
Thanks for reviewing. Yes, St. Trinians was a terrible, terrible influence and in all honesty, probably the reason Dawn and Joyce survived the Hellmouth intact (Joyce's death not included).

Ha ha! Only Gargamel could frell up a simple curse like that. What an idiot.

"I used to go to this boarding school over in the U.K.-St. Trinians"

 :pause:

Damn, now there's a crossover that would mess with your mind. Dawn, the ex-pat from St Trinians. Stephen King doesn't hold a candle to the power of the potential horror and chaos that that thought alone generates. I don't suppose you know of any stories out there that would fall into this category, do you?
Comments from author:
Yeah, Gargamel is incompetent no matter what.

You're the first person to comment on St. Trinians. Personally, I think it's how the civilian mother and younger sister of the Slayer survived on the Hellmouth for so long when said Slayer can't even remember to keep her identity secret. You might get to see that horror and chaos if I ever get around to writing that story I mentioned. Unfortunately I don't know any stories that would fall into that category. Although there is a St. Trinians section over at ffdotnet.

Review:
Of course, Tyr knows that Dawn isn't Azkedellia, and further that Gargled Spell was not truly justified in his complaint.

That's why Dawn always seems to come back out of Tuesday a trifle better or wiser.

This makes her the Elmo of Sunnydale.
Comments from author:
Yeah... If Dawn had been worthy of the curse, she would have died or been seriously maimed at the very least. Of course, no matter how benevolent the god, I think he enjoys putting her through her paces and forcing her to grow, as you've said. In my mind, he also gives her mildly bad luck or maybe encourages her to end up in strange situations on Tuesdays when she's not been kidnapped or threatened because it amuses him.

Review:
Tyr's day, ha! Works for me. Good choice of adjusted costumes :)

Check out 'The Color of Her Panties' by Piers Anthony. One of the main characters is a foundling and she finds out at the end of the book that the idle conversations she's been having about her unknown backstory have been actively changing it, much as the conversations about Dawn and Cassie's wardrobe here ;)

Nice touch with the ropes.

-- Eh, I love the first 12 books of the Xanth series, but yeah, few hits after that and a lot of dumb choices. 'Color' is 15, the writing is fairly average, and a lot of the later novels suffer extremely IMHO because they over rely on the character mentioned above as a cheap and often reckless plot device. I also love the Adept and Mode series - but again, the last book or two kinda fall flat.
Comments from author:
Thanks for the review. I'm not so sure about Piers Anthony-I've heard both good and bad things about his writing-but I'll consider it. And I'm glad you noticed the rope thing. I wasn't sure if it was too subtle or not.

Review:
Still doesn't explain Tuesday. As Halloween 1997 (where everyone was changed into their costumes) was on a Friday.
Comments from author:
Thanks for reviewing. It doesn't have to do with what day of the week Halloween fell on, it has to do with the curse Gargamel cast. Tyr is the god associated with Tuesdays and as a result of Gargamel's shoddy spell casting, the curse only affects Dawn on Tuesdays.
