This would be a really great story to make into an epic. If that wormhole was somehow 'connectable' to the one in Sunnydale (season 5, top of a tower?), that would be even more interesting...

Interesting premise and plot, but a couple details are wrong.
- Serenity won't fit into a Daedalus-class fighter bay. A Firefly-class ship is 15m tall (about 17m with the landing struts out). It's way, way too high for the fighter bay (7-10m max). Matching courses (with a tractor lock from the Hammond) and using Inara's shuttle would have been a more realistic scenario. Not to mention there's no reaction at all to the bay being still 'open' to space yet having normal atmosphere (shields and force fields are fantasy to them).
- SG ships do have at least a platoon of Marines on board for security at all times. Plus the pilots and other crew are trained in security and ship defense (Cam, Sheppard, and Carter aren't unique in both pilot and SF skills for SG/Pegasus personnel.)
Other than those nits, it's a great premise and resolution. Too bad it's only a taste of what could be an interesting meeting of characters and world-views.

It may just be me, but I wouldn't have McKay there for First Contact seeing that he lacks little thing call people skills. Still a good one-shot? Or is there going to be more?
