Actually, this is more the MV-22 Osprey (planned replacement for the Combat Talon and Sea Stallion/SuperStallion for both the Marines and Air Force); the Combat Talon is up for replacement because the Osprey can go where the Combat Talon (or even a Sea Stallion/Super Stallion) cannot, and has the carry capacity of the C-130

Not very bad at all. Couple of things - first, the V-22 Osprey is not a helicopter. it's a VTOL tilt-wing aircraft. the other is, unless you're playing it for laughs, don't have Xander have a huge weapon to tote around. I'll admit that, if I read your first fic (which I may have, it sounds vaguely familiar), I've forgotten the particulars, but even if you've given Xander powers, having to start and stop a BFG in order to aim it correctly would be an arduous task. It's obviously your fic, and I honestly don't know if you've powered Xander up beyond the Slayers, but if you haven't, there's a reason that they carry the lightest weapons that will get the job done. As I said, it's your 'verse and fic, and the other elements are good.

Yeah, you're right about the V-22. Brain fart. ;-(
And as far as Xander is concerned, each of the team has a particular role to play, and his is the equivalent of artillery, at least in the initial stage of any attack - hence the BFG. The Scoobies are now more equivalent to an elite military unit, and are equipped similarly, to a fair extent, which is why everyone was described as having different weapons.
And yes, Xander does have powers now, along the lines of the Marvel Ultimate Universe Captain America, but he's not a Marty Stu. Xander's abilities are similar to those of a Slayer's, but somewhat different, and he's not anywhere near a Superman-analogue.
