No! You can't end it like that. You wouldn't deprive us readers of the chance to cackle at the adventures of Snape and Xander...would you? Well, either way, this story was enjoyable and filled with lots of comedic relief.

Okay, a thought on why wanders are supposed to be wonky when it comes to non-wander magic.
Magic core energy (which wanders use) is not the same as filtering and utilising outside power. It's very like a direct-charge appliance getting fed alternating current without an adapter.
This would explain why wand wizards of rather strong power CAN learn wandless magic for the simpler spells, essentially learning how to adapt their own power and focus it without the use of their handy dandy conversion/focus tool (the wand).
