2.

blaming Buffy for Kennedy's idiocy??? Yeah nicely done scoobs.

3.

no surprise this didn't work as well :)

4.

fun how stupid they can really be
5.

ROFL...Anya blaming B for giving Spike a chance :)

6.

nice fic and fun to read tx. For sharing.
I must say I wasn't to big a fan on how Buffy acted there in canon, but I also didn't like
the scoobies reactions back than as well. If blame had to be dashed out back there, it had to go to all of them.
Comments from author:
I just think that tensions were so tightly strung at that point that it wouldn't have mattered what she tried. For me it doesn't help that she turned out to be right about going back. If they waited much longer, Caleb would have had the Scythe and I don't want to imagine the damage he would have caused with it.

Review of chapter "Chapter 1: The Wish" from PrincessArien
Review:
The premise of your story had promise, but I feel like your "moral" for this story (even if it's supposed to be some sort lie/mind-game set up be D'Hoffryn) really just ruins the whole thing. To be quite honest it feels to me that your having the Scoobies keep betraying Buffy over, and over, and over, and over, and over again is even *more* out of character than when it happened in the actual canon episode on the show, especially over some of the things you had happen, they're just beyond any kind of logic and most of them really jarred me out of the rhythm of the story and pretty much shattered all of my "willing suspension of disbelief". What's really perturbed me though is some of the opinions and views on the characters I saw expressed here in the reviews....:/

Now, I'm firmly on Buffy's side in the episode "Empty Places" but I still don't hate the Scoobies for what they did (not really anyway), I place all the blame for/anger at that squarely on Joss Whedon's and the other writers' shoulders. One OOC moment shouldn't taint the whole view on a character or set of characters. The Scoobies aren't some sort of evil monsters that view Buffy as their doormat to just walk all over and nothing more than a tool (they're *definitely* not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but they're not evil. They're just flawed like every other good-guy on the show, including Buffy herself). And even if she had to relive through a betrayal over and over, I really don't see Buffy turning into some cruel, heartless, inhumane, ruthless, and almost evil bitch to all of her friends and family who believes that they're all just waiting for their next chance to stab her in the back.
Comments from author:
See, by this point in canon, the Scoobies and Giles have gotten on my last nerve so unless I do some serious overhauling of the series, Buffy gets to strike out on her own. I have a couple post-'Chosen' fics where she's on friendly terms with the others, but those are a little harder to write than the ones where she leaves them behind. I've probably only liked Dawn for a total of two minutes in the whole show, so she dies or is left behind as well.

Neat little supernatural version of Groundhog Day, Buffy-style. Me likey.
Comments from author:
So much fun to write this - especially since I honestly believe this would happen if she had to re-live that time.

Review:
Love it again read it twice now.
This is for your reviewer Jasonbarnett: Buffy is beside a Slayer also a human being. the Slayer normally fights alone and always goes where she is needed. So when she walks away it's a normal thing a Slayer would do. She isn't needed anymore. Buffy couldn't walk away because the Hellmouth needed guardian and besides that, she loved her sister and friends. The same sister and friends who controlled her life for almost, lets face it, almost 5 years and tried before that but only succeeded after Angel left. Dawn and the Scoobies forgot her dive from the tower fast enough, their actions especially Dawn proved that.

To me Buffy is a hero and a very strong person and warrior. She stayed after being pulled from heaven and waking up in her grave. she was mentally a mess. She was broke an had a day-job and a duty at night. the Scoobies included Giles didn't help her a bit. They only blamed her when something went wrong or pointed her on her past mistakes while their own where never mentioned. I agree with Buffy going her own way is the best she could do, because they would do it again. Human part I'm pointing at is that she always forgive them when they did something wrong and her love for them gave them the opportunity to use her how they seem to think was right in their eyes. Myself I wouldn't take the bullshit and let me use like a doormat to clean your shoes on. I would have cut them out of my life sooner.

So there I said it. I read the review and couldn't let it go. Now I'm gone read the sequel
Comments from author:
Well, I doubt that JasonBarnett will come back to read the reviews, but for myself, thanks for the back up. Glad you liked the story.

I figured that would be the lesson she'd have to learn - that her so-called friends would never trust her like she deserves to be trusted. It's time for her to let go and find a better life to live.
Comments from author:
Yup. Sometimes the lessons aren't happy ones. (Except I'm happy that she's free of them now)

I want to be a Buffyphile!

Love Buffy's ending speech. She walked away and gave a piece of her mind and gave advice to Faith about what the others would do to her. I can see Faith following her after a couple of weeks. Wonder how the others would survive with the Two since in my universe, after the Final Battle, all the potentials' powers were taken back and they became just potentials again.
Comments from author:
I'm not even sure it would take a couple weeks. Part of my mind is saying that as the door was shutting, Faith was going to her room to pack. And yeah, if two Slayers was such a problem, having a whole bunch of them would probably cause something stupid like the comics' Twilight arc to happen.

Review of chapter "Chapter 6: Staking Spike" from JasonBarnett
Review:
I think Buffy's great. But making her OOC enough to just abandon the Scoobies takes away a lot of that greatness. Look at it this way. She forgives Angel and Spike for slaughtering thouseands over the years, then doesn't forgive the Scoobies for hurting her. It kind of creates a message of "Hey, it's okay as long as it doesn't happen to me." Which is the sort of thing many criticize her for.

edit: I'm not saying forgiving is bad. Actually, just the opposite, what I'm saying is selectively not forgiving is bad. And the fact is whatever your stance on souls or power(the difference between Anyanka and Anya basically), or grief(Willow's reason for going after Warren), the one time she couldn't forgive was when it was directed directly at her, rather than just catching her in the crossfire, so to speak. Whatever her reasons or justifications(they'll betray me again next time), it wasn't until someone hurt her rather than someone else that they became unforgivable.

edit2: As long as it's about her, it's going to make her look bad, is my point. As long as they together are more effective than them apart then walking away from them is bad. It negates the courage etc. That was the whole problem with the end of season 5, and season 6 and parts of season 7. The fight was out of her. This is her giving up one of the biggest fights she had for the seven years she was the Slayer, having friends and family. Them losing their way and doing something like Angel did, signing up with Wolfram & Hart, washing her hands of them is fine. But alking away because they hurt her feelings? I mean she's disowned the person she made a point of mentioning she died for. Kind of screws up that heroic sacrifice doesn't it.
Comments from author:
So by your logic, Anya should have been tossed into the Hellmouth first because she was the worst killer of all. Her death count surpassed Darla, Angelus, Dru and Spike's put together. What exactly is the magical number of deaths for forgiveness? Are Willow's two cold-blooded murders okay? Giles' killing of Ben? We never did get a full body count of how many people died when Xander summoned Sweet, but I'd be willing to bet it was at least a handful.

Of course she would have a different view on murders that happened when they didn't have souls - or in Spike's case, were controlled by the First. She didn't forgive the others first, because they never apologized to her, and second, because she knew it was only a matter of time before they betrayed her again the next time things got hairy.

EDIT: It wasn't just one time; it was the final straw after 7 years of all the times they made her feel like crap and tried to control her.

EDIT2: I see...so she just has to remain a doormat and let the others - including her fake sister - treat her like crap until she dies again...assuming they let her stay dead *that* time. I think I prefer a less heroic Buffy if that's the case.

Ouch, that turned out even more badly than I could have ever imagined. Good thing Buffy didn't choose Angel in the real loop!
Comments from author:
The outcome made sense to me once I thought about it. Yeah, it's possible that Angel wearing it could have ended the same as Spike, but this way was cooler to me.

Oh you know I'm a Buffy-phile! :D Great end to the story! At least I didn't have to mourn Spike for long. And I like how you had the amulet be a trap for Angelus (kind of expected it from canon, but since Spike used it instead...). And I love that Buffy told the Scoobies about the loops before leaving; as well as giving Faith a heads up about the group's "loyalty". Oh yeah, loved D'Hoffryn's reasoning for helping Buffy. Hee!

Don't forget to update your profile page.

I thought the amulet idea could have been true from what we knew about the shows. In my mind, Faith's sprinting to her room even as the door is closing after Buffy so she can grab her stuff and catch up to her sister-Chosen One.
