Very cool. I find the way you described James acting when he was in Sunnydale wonderful, although I do have to wonder why his parents didn't look into where they were sending him for safety issues before sending him, that or gift him some pointers on how not to stick out like a sore thumb. I love how well Harry and Xander got along in this.

Wasn't sure about a fic where they're related - too many fics on this site staring Xander have made me wary - but you did great! Very beleiveable, esp where James saved Xander from a vampire!
The Boy Who Drank A Lot.--------- HAHAHHA
I love that Harry is going to work for the Council! Oh, and his reasoning for not wanting to be an Auror makes total sense. Actually, I'm kinda thinking JKR went the easy route with that Auror decision - yours is much more realistic that he wouldn't want to do that.
Great fic!

Thanks Luna! I think this was the wishlist fic I was most worried about because *looks around* well *leans forward and whispers* I'm not a fan of Xander. I've never written him before except in passing, and knowing there's a die-hard Xander fan-base here... Yeah, I wasn't sure how this would go. :P I'm so relieved it turned out okay!
There's so much potential, and I think a Willow reality check that there are equally as powerful magic users that didn't have to go darkside to get their power could be a possibility. And I would love to see Harry's first day & the meeting with Giles. Also more Xander & Harry bonding.
(sorry, i'm in a very tired of 'willow is the most powerful magic user ever & is so perfectly shiny' phase. similar to my current loathing of hermione is the smartest witch of her age fawning because really??). > > Sorry, but The Potter crowd aren't in the same league as Willow and the Buffy magic users. In fact I'll rank the Potterverse characters among the least powerful magic users ever created in fiction.
Sure Harry and the rest might be among the top dogs in their universe/league but that isn't saying all that much when you compare that to the other magical universes out there such as the ones found in anime and other places..
I totally liked this story! I like it that Harry and Xander have found family in each other. I like it that Xander has helped Harry find a new purpose in life. I like it that Harry is going to be a part of the Scooby family. Good story!

Please make this into a full fledged story! I am begging you! It would be so cool for Harry to meet the rest of the Scoobies. I think he could learn a lot under Willow maybe even perform some wiccan magic. He and Dawn would also make a great pairing. Trouble always seems to find them so that is one thing they both have in common. (lol) Please consider this. Take care. :)

I don't have any plans to continue it right now, but that doesn't mean I won't want to later on. :) There's always the possibility of one of these one-shots getting rowdy and demanding more attention. I'm glad you liked it enough to want to see more of it though! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Loved this, hope for more one shots in this universe or if you fancy doing it... a nice full blown story.

I'm glad you liked it! :) I have no plans to continue it right now, but who knows what the future holds. My muse is a little unbalanced - I never know which plot bunny he's going to feed... Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I liked this as a harry and Xander meet family they can actually like... sort of thing right up until "“My two best friends, Ron and Hermione, are engaged, so I don’t really want to be their third wheel all the time."
Just kinds screwed it all up for me right there... I was hoping up to that point Hermione was off dealing with her parents, rebuilding their relationship and all so harry was giving them time together, but that really screwed ti up for me. Canon to me is nothing more than approval for abusive relationships for the people involved - child abuse, spouse abuse, etc.... Which is why I've never picked up any of the Potter books since making the mistake of reading the last three in the series, and why I try to convince friends and relatives to never allow their children to read them without pointing out the abusive people in them - Dumbledore, McGonagall, Ron, Molly, Draco, etc...
Having whined about that, I liked just about everything else about the story. I'd even go so far as to want to read further, should you see your way to kowtowing to My Most Righteous rage And Indignation - OK, personal biases - and altering that leetle bitty section prior to..... :^p

Honestly, I wasn't too worried about Ron and Hermione and what they were up to. :P And if I continued this, I doubt they'd be mentioned again except maybe just in passing. Having them be together and off somewhere was the easiest way to get them out of the way. But I'm glad you enjoyed the story other than that bit. :) Thanks for checking it out and for reading and reviewing!

I enjoyed reading this story! Seeing Harris Sr as a decent human being for once, even if it was before Xander could remember, was interesting. I liked the way you characterized Harry and Xander. The story just calls out for a sequel.

I'm so glad you liked it! :) I might come back and write more for it later, not sure - we'll have to see if that plot bunny grows more rabid... Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

This was a very enjoyable story, and I'd love to see it continued. Seeing how Harry and Willow interact would be good. I'm not sure if Harry would find Andrew more or less annoying than Colin Creevy was at first.
