Next Dumbledore will bring Sirius out of Azkaban and say that he was wrongly sentenced to prison,to try to entice Harry "home". Won't Dumbledore be in for a treat to know that all the stuff sent ended up destroyed. Probably never thought about the stuff being destroyed and sent stuff that could never be replaced. Awaiting more.

The story isn't bad, but I find it unrealistic that no one visited after he got his letter. Dumbledore and co. would've made sure that Harry was coming to Hogwarts.
