*Shiver* Chilling stuff. After crossing the line of a justified study of predatory creatures that have attacked him we are now looking at Bad Bad things. He's gone from a desire to preserve life&fight evil into Dr. Mengele territory. That Red Skinned female with heat powers he killed did not attack him&was shown to be capable of taking out Vampires... So Sad&such a waste. Nasty outcome for poor Clem too. As to Kendra... A Psychotic Break may be on the cards for Xander. Either that or a Watcher Hit Squad.

instead of looking for dangerous demons to study, why doesnt he look into regular animals and see how some of their abilities work. like how some jellyfish as biologically immortal, or how lizards regenerate etc, even a cats nightvision and snakes head and vibration sense. Do you think xander would be able to mimic those abilities?
Great Update! Xander has finally taken a life but he doesn't know it. Looking forward to when he finds out. Your explanation for how his ability worker is very good, better then the show described it. Keep up the good work.

For some reason reading your description of Sylar made me think of Dexter Morgan and his "Dark Passenger" AKA his need to kill. Now granted, Dexter seems to be able to focus his urges and channel them into hunting bad people (at least for the first few seasons, I haven't seen past season 2) but he at least had some seriously F*ed up psychological damage to back up his psychopathy.
I dunno, random word association I suppose. You might want to check out the first season or two of Dexter if you want to write a good psychopath (sociopath?).

Is Xander becoming Evil or what? Because I aks because since you gave him Syler´s power it sort of looks like your going in that route.
Comments from author:
No, he just gets the obsession with knowledge ('the hunger'), which is known to affect moral restrains (Peter attacking both Nathan and his mother), and doesn't realize yet he actually has a problem. And the demonic nature of the Slayer gets him to make wrong conclusions about Kendra.

Very interesting so far, and I'm interested to see how the knowledge that some of the demons he's been killing are entirely peaceful creatures, let alone that he's killed a Slayer, will affect him.

also, it was shown that sylar doesnt need to kill his victims to get his powers when he learned he also had some sort of empathetic amplitude, he just prefers to do look at brains.
There are two things to keep in mind, first the fact that Peter was eventually able to control the "Hunger" would seem to indicate that what gave Sylar so much trouble was psychological and or he became warped and developed a taste for killing.
The second thing to keep in mind is that Sylar eventually learned how to copy an ability without killing seemingly by studying how the person uses their ability much like Xander has learned magic mostly by studying how others have done it.
This means that Xander does not need to become a massive serial killer, while it’s almost inevitable that he will kill one or two people unlike Sylar I see Xander being more like Peter in that he will be able to gain control of the "Hunger" especially if there are alternatives to killing. Although it would be interesting to see him take the approach of killing and taking the abilities of bad guys which would put him firmly in a grey area.
Good work so far keep writing.
