Nice story! This would make a good longer term crossover with both Buffy and SG1 but I can see where you are coming from with not wanting to get pulled into a major project like that would be, and this does end at a reasonable point.

I have been working on a Buffy/Robotech/StarGate SG1 cross for a while at this point. I havent published yet but I take inspiration from fics like this to keep working on it. Thank you for fuelling the fire a bit more

As for power, didn´t that book demon it´s robot form use somekinda energy-fusion-cell?

I do remember that in the Robotech arc the Protoculture Martix was destroyed and later a new one build, then a few years later and you had the "Shadow Chronicles".
Only problem is that they never followed that arc to it´s conclusion.

What I mean is that with spare protoculture cells, Xander might be able to grow new protoculture plants in a controled enviriment, ad the very minium.

Also, able to build the entire tech-tree from Robotech?
Including the SDF´s?

Though that came originaly from the anime "Megazone 23", but it does open options.
If only in that it lets them control ships they don´t have the crew for.
And if I understand everything right, Xander has basicaly a Robotech mini-3D-tech printer that can print the parts for a bigger machine.

Another thing, Xander and the gang are trying not to be noticed by the goverment (local govermental corruption helps them in that), thus they can never be all over the place.
On the other hand, graduation might become quite the battle now.
I do hope that Jenny will surfive this time, same for Joys(?) Summer.
So, what happens to Spike, Angel and Dru?

If there were other special costumes created by Ethan, who has bought/hired them and what serie/game/story did they come from?
The next episodes for TOS-BSG that never saw the light of day, yet a twin-seater Viper 1:1 model for hanger shoting was already build.
Babylon-4, the untold story? (Really Babylon-5, but with the Babylon-4 station instead of the Babylon-5 station and way in the past)
TOS-Star-Trek, the Voyage Continue´s?

Andromeda?

Bubblegum Crisis?

There are lots of movie costume options that Ethan could have used and all of them can have funny after-reactions.
So if you go that route, pick carefully, only pick those that ain´t compatible or mesh really well togeter (two sides of a brick).
And while your on it, figure out another goal for them as well.
Something that would give them a challange(?), even with that tech. (often the reason for triple crosses)

ps: Do hope some of those other "special" costumes are from Macross and the other original Robotech anime source materials.
If only for funny chaos it would cause.

No worries I am a very big Robotech, and Macross Fan, therefore I know plenty about the universe. As for EVE I have never really been a big believer in her, used to be, but no longer really. Maybe because its from Megazone series and some people trying to incorporate that series into the Robotech Universe.

Anyways moving on, the SEED Module that Xander has is what's called a Type I Module and can only build stuff up to a Destroid Monster. Though it should be noted that this Module can't really build more then one Monster, or more then a couple Veritechs at a time. Thanks to it having a set size limit. The Type II Module is a larger version and originally the size of a car. This module can be used to build larger things like some smaller ships like the Horizons, and can build up to a squadron of Veritechs at time if needed. Finally the Type III Module is often called the Shipyard Module and can be used on the ground though it works best in somewhere in space. It can build any ship in the REF's inventory. Therefore since Xander only has access to the Type I Module he can only really build some stuff to outfit the Scoobies, and a Veritech or Destroid. Ships is another story. However Xander could use the Type I to build Type II and Type III modules if he needs to.

As for any other special costumes, that is big no since in stories there is such things as Overkill. Also since I am not planning on continuing this. Though I may come back and rewrite it thanks to some of the other suggestions. IF I ever did come back to continue it would cross Stargate as well.

Always did love the old anime. I have all the episodes from the begin of the first Robotech war until the end of the Third one. Also, the Flower of Life allow genes to work even if it's a genetic disorder. Update real soon, will ya?

Wonderful idea! I would love to see this developed more. I do understand the lack of Buffy timeline knowledge, but wiki can be a godsend for cross-overs.

The writing was good and the potential fo either hilarity or gritty action/drama are all there. I do hope that you expand on this. You might want to get a beta that knows buffy real well to assist.

Wow. First I am a HUGE Robotech fan, and you didn't do a half bad job on this. Second, I give you 2 tumbs up to continue this. And is there a chance to get some states on what all was used. Even Xanders charactor?

Heh. Well as you can tell I am huge robotech fan myself, even creating my stuff for a story. Honestly since this story is basically "Complete" there won't be any real character stats posted though a buddy of mine who read this has mentioned that I should write out a few other short-stories that explore the history of Xander's character as well some "snapshots" of Xander's life after Halloween. So hopefully when I have time I shall write something about this.

The protoculture may be replaced to work outside Sunnydale if you really do a third crossover and have him study naquadah/naquadriah or even a zpm power core - having him only using it in such a limited capacity as only within range of the Hellmouth would cut in on whatever his role is as a demon hunter locked into just one region... melding SG1 universe would benefit him in that way if u wish to make the story longer. He's supposed to be an engineer so he should be able to have the smarts enough to do it especially if he can boast about using the foundry to build a full scale Alpha Fighter....

The one thing I never really liked abt the whole Robotech thing that combined three shows into one huge story arc was the protoculture explanation - that was one huge ass plot hole in my book even as a kid because it varied from one saga to the next... I never got into the rpg sourcebooks that came after but "protoculture" was pretty vague during the actual Macross Saga.. then it became something like a plant during the Southern Cross sage and after that it turned into some sort of fuel cell during the Invid Invasion saga.... if you do plan on continuing this, the Stargate crossover really is the obvious choice to pitch it into if he needs a different power source to operate beyond Sunnydale..... unless of course you use another show like The Sanctuary that might provide another alternative source... but Stargate has more potential for him to stir up hijinks on both planetary and interplanetary scale.

Trust me you are not the only one who hated that part of Robotech. Honestly in any of my Robotech stories I usually have it where Protoculture is not used by Earth till after the First Robotech War. All of the FRW stuff are powered by nuclear or fusion power, baring the SDF-1 which is still powered by the Protoculture Matrix itself. As for the Robotech RP stuff you are not missing that much for is even worse then the series, and don't even get my started on the Novels. The new RP Stuff that came out alongside the Shadow Chronicles movie is better but it has its own fair share of problems.

As for the story well honestly my original plan was to have the "First Season" of the Story be Xander trying to figure out the Protoculture problem. Yes I originally want to bring in SG1 eventually but honestly like I mentioned it has done already granted not with a Robotech story but in plenty other ones like Halo, and a few others. If I ever have Xander going outside of Sunnydale with Robotech I may just come up with my own set-up maybe based on something else but still my own set-up.

Honestly, the Protoculture being powered by the Hellmouth bit is something of a weakness for Xander's Robotech Stuff that I wanted for the story for a lot of stories had no real weakness. Granted he has basically unlimited ammo and fuel thanks to this but eventually the Vampires and such will try to leave Sunnydale alone therefore Xander has to leave it to continue fighting them. This weakness also prevents Xander from outfitting Kendra with Robotech equipment though he does have plenty of PC Canisters to use if needed.

Anyways thanks for the review! I didn't expect such positive response from the readers. I may in the future come back to this, but it won't be for a while I have other projects that need my attention.
