That cry, from At the Mountains of Madness, was not made by Shoggoths. And they weren't Demons anyway.

The last paragraph of part 11 states that the shoggoths were mimics and implies that they were mimicking the sounds of the albino penguins (because sorry, penguins don't sound eldritch, no matter how albino they are).
As to the latter, okay, demon-constructs. Still seems demonic more than robotic in my book.
