I will point out that Sally was right - Sherlock does indeed "get off" on the thrill and challenge of this kind of thing, just intellectually instead of sexually. Which doesn't make Dawn wrong, he'd of course intervene to stop things but it can't be denied he enjoys a challenge. When the original character the show's based on got so restless when he couldn't be challenged he relied on cocaine to tide him over until the next one (Watson would look for challenges because this annoyed him so much)... Well, that would lead to an inappropriate enthusiasm for the bizarre murders. Sally was right, but read far too much into it. Still, that "freak/freak friends" comment was too far. And what Dawn got to say about disreputable people still being decent was good.
Man, I really enjoy the Dawn/Sherlock interaction with Buffy and Watson's support and byplay. Entertaining foursome. You do the sisters well, in particular. One thing I do have to say - the Mycroft/Buffy thing is a bit hard for me to swallow, maybe because I haven't seen the modern version, but I did look him pics. Sure, B's dated vamps, but only in comparison to that is the relationship NOT a bit May/December, isn't it? ...Maybe he's charming enough. But man, I don't see the instant attraction, certainly the original was almost so aloof as to be almost bored with everything half the time. Good excuse for the fics, I guess. Won't complain about that.
And NICE touch with the Hobbit shout-out, works excellently as an excuse for the guy who studied almost everything to be ignorant, slipped in John's Hobbit knowledge (cute). Talked too much. Fic good. Reading next ones.

I liked this a lot the first time I read it, and now that I've done my research and know that Benedict Cumberatch is the voice of Smaug in the upcoming Hobbit movie, I like it even more! Awesome little reference there, and great story series. I've read them all at least twice now! :)

Yeah..... I'm just a little bit in love with these stories..... who am I kidding... I'm a lot in love with them... Sherlock and Buffy are always a good combination. I think that your characterization of everyone is dead on... please continue with loads more stories about them...
I enjoyed this. Regrettably, I've only seen the first series of "Sherlock" and that only once, so I don't recall all of the added characters. However, I do think these two worlds fit well together. Loved the "West Wing" reference at the end as well. Does that mean Lord Marbury will make an appearance?

These fics are absolutely fantastic. You capture the tone of the characters perfectly enough that I can practically hear the actors voices as I read the dialog. Very well done.
