Review of chapter "Easing One's Conscience III - Angel's Story" from
cmdruhuraReview:
On her own terms. In her own way. She would not be satisfied until Buffy Summers was in pieces at her feet. Let her try to resurrect herself from that….
This is Buffy Summers we're talking about. Her atoms could be scattered across the entire universe and somehow, someway they would be pulled together again if needed. She will never be allowed to rest as long as there is something she can do against the evil in the world.
Comments from author:
Hmmm, you might recall that at the beginning of Season Six she had been pulled out of what Buffy had later realized was Heaven, indicating that she was not meant to be brought back from the dead. It was a dark, selfish thing that Willow did to bring back their friend, and it set her down the Dark Path eventually. At some point, Buffy had to be given her eternal reward for a job well done, and the torch passed to a new leader of the Slayers.
Just as soon as the war against the Sith is won, of course...but that's later on down the road in my tale...
Thanks for reviewing...

HarryReview:
*Starts humming Imperial March* Sounds like Lady Vasta has realized that she did NOT kill off Buffy! And, now she realizes that even with a Clone Army of her own, she cannot dispose of her Master until she deals with the Slayer! As for O'Neill and SGC, I LOVE JACK'S idea! Ship the clones off to the Asguard to experiment with! Even Sam loved it, and she is NOT one to laugh very often at Jack's crazy ideas!
Comments from author:
Hmmm, *Starts humming Sith theme* It's Lord Vastia, though Vastia is a female, I intended the title to be non-gender-specific, so SHE is LORD Vastia. Yeah, I know...repetitive much...
But, yeah, Lord Vastia is scared half to death that her erstwhile sister is still alive. Rest assured, there will be a confrontation eventually, and it...will....Be... EPIC! I probably will write the fight scene first, since that's forming in my head right now, then fill in the gaps later. But there is OH, SO much to cover between now and then! This thing may end up being twice as long as Rise, maybe longer. And yes, I apologize, I've been working on Code Ragnarok with Rich, Pythia, and HMaxMarius. It's open to all authors, but your first part has to introduce your story, do that in "Code Ragnarok -- Stand and Be Counted". Once you do, then HMaxMarius will add you to the list of authors authorized to work with "Code Ragnarok -- Battlefront". Just don't step on another author's work...I made that mistake, and it screwed up the story for a bit, but it worked itself out since then, and it's really in-depth.
The offer stands. Dare you accept the challenge of RAGNAROK?

Well, this man may be gay, but he knows how to take care of himself. Now, lets see how he reacts to the news that the Sith DO EXIST!
Comments from author:
I invite you to reread "The Matter of the Clones" in "Balance of Powers," it's still unfinished and I'm adding material to it as we speak...
Update 15 Jan 2013 - working on Code Ragnarök at this time, might be a while (hopefully only a short while) before I can get back to writing "Balance of Powers"...take a gander at this epic multiauthor tale of war, heroes and sacrifice ..

Sounds like Angel may have found a ally in this former FBI agent. Lets see if it pays off.
Comments from author:
It should...maybe it will for everyone...but that's just speculation. Angel will know more about Special Agent Smecker, one way or another...

HarryReview:
EASY BUFFY! You are becoming more and more like Vader when you are like this! Keep your cool. Use that anger to focus your abilities with the force. Otherwise, you are going to be dead meat.
Comments from author:
No one's calling it the Force yet, if ever they do. I never intended for the power of the magicks, whether Dark or otherwise, to evolve into their respective aspects of the Force, but I suppose maybe they must, if this story keeps going in the direction I envisioned it so far...
Edit 14 Jan 2013 -- I was just rereading your comment here, and it occurred to me that you had said Buffy should use her anger to focus her mystical abilities. Bear in mind that anger leads to hate, and hate leads to the Dark Side. It would be imperative for the reborn Slayer to focus on dismissing the raw anger within her and listening to the voice of the Goddess ...it would help her to come to terms with what she is and what she can learn in her quest to take down the Sith.

Hera is playing the Senate like a concert pianist. And she will have them eating out of her hands. If only they TRULY knew what they were dealing with. They would be quivering in their seats and some would be wishing that they could be in the bathroom instead.
Comments from author:
Oh, this isn't done by a LONG shot...Senate hearings tend to be very long and drawn out, and unless the Dark Lord decides to use her dark gifts in there to influence them directly, it may go on longer. She can't afford to use mind tricks on career politicians, she's far too shrewd for that...and so are they.

Review of chapter "Recruitment" from
HarryReview:
I understand where Xander is coming from. Lord knows I do. But, in a situation like this, if you don't try to reach out for the light, and hope and pray that there is some light left in Dawn and Willow, then you're going to end up in the same path and fate that they are.
Comments from author:
I wouldn't worry so much for Xander in that regard. He has at best a limited ability to wield the power of the magicks. His best example, and perhaps the only one, is a scene where he reads Latin text in an enchanted book, and the book starts burning. That's about the scope of his ability.
What he should worry about most is what his terrible hatred for the Sith will do to his soul. No magicks, but his clouded judgement will lead him to order people to carry out less ethical tasks or carry out more noble tasks using less ethical means. It all goes back to how the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, as the proverb goes. One terrible deed in the name of goodness may be the same as a thousand such.

Review of chapter "The Sundering of North Korea" from
HarryReview:
Its worse than ROTS! This is post ROTS. Willow is using a mixture of Magic and tech to grow her clones and send them off to force the world to bow to her feet. And any Slayer, active or just a potential, is fodder for Willow's apprentice. This is time to, as they would say in the Godfather, to head for the Mattresses and take on your foes when you have the best chance. Its do or die time now.
Comments from author:
No, it's worse than even that. She's not forcing the world to bow to her feet, not yet. Right now, she's convincing them that they WANT to bow to her...

*Starts humming Imperial March* If both Dru and ILLYRIA had the same vision, then there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. DEFCON 1 is now in effect. Its time to start coordinating everything to the best of the council's abilities. This is no joke. This is do or die time.

You read the prophecy at the beginning of it all, yes? I tend to think it's unfinished. Give me your best finish to the prophecy of the Dark Sisters, and I'll see where it will take the story...hooked now?

Rereading the prophecy I get the following - To make an omelet, you have to break some eggs.
As far as the Powers are concerned, a period of severe hardship for the Slayers is necessary to strengthen them. Not the first time a hero has been put through the wringer.
Comments from author:
Hey, do me a favor; finish the prophecy LOL

Review of chapter "The Matter of the Clones" from
djhardimReview:
There's an old saying - fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
The plain and simple fact is that they can't afford to show Willow or Dawn any mercy. At the earliest opportunity, they have to take them out. The stakes are too high.
The only fly in the ointment is the Clone troopers. There's no telling what would happen if Willow and Dawn were to die.
Just a thought, suppose that Xander and Buffy got a look ahead at Halloween 1997. What would they have done about Willow?
Edit: They meaning the Watcher's Council. As for Halloween, I meant that the Powers sent a message back in time.
Edit1: It would have to be an alternate universe version. In order to make it work to begin with, Buffy and Angel will have to step back from their relationship. It was the soul curse ritual that started Willow down her road to destruction. Make sure that both Willow and Amy have proper magical instruction.
Comments from author:
They meaning who? The Watchers' Council or the US Congress? As for any contingency plans, in the event of both Sith Lords being taken out, remember that the Sith are not stupid. Darth Hera would have made some sort of plan for the clonnes to follow. Also I hinted in previous chapters that Hera might be considering Lilah Morgan for grooming as an apprentice.
The Halloween element does not come into play in this work as it takes place after Season Seven and assumes that the evwnts of Seasons Eight and Nine did not take place.
Oh yes, in case anyone noticed, each chapter needs to be read multiple times to keep up with the new material that I add on a regular basis. I rarely, if ever, post a complete, finished chapter so please bear with me....thanks
Addendum
Re: That's a really good idea; I had intended to bring the PTBs into the mix somehow...otherwise there'd be no point to the title, now would there? One prob here...how would Willow and Dawn escape the increased scrutiny (at least from OUR point of view) and find the means to unleash the destruction we'vr witnessed so far? It seems a bit problematic due to the Scoobies' affinity for interpreting prophecy...
Re:Re: I was actually thinking more along the lines about the prophecy excerpt I has written at the beginning of Rise Dark Sisters, to which by the way this little ongoing work of mine is a sequel, you may wish to refer to that. But moving right along, the prophecy shows up in a search of documents by Angel while he's trying to find a way to find more Potentials and Call them, he runs across the prophecy and figures out the PTBs have known about this all along and have never said squat about it, and it goes from there.

I think that Xander is saying, "No More!"
Comments from author:
His bestest friend in the whole wide world, his dear sweet crayon breaky Willow is now a Dark Lord of the Sith and a mass murderer along with Dawn; how would YOU feel after suffering such a terrible betrayal? Prob with Xander is his resolve...when he makes a decision he sticks to it through thick and thin. Just ask Deadboy -- Uh I mean Angel...
But you need to remember, this is Darth Hera attempting to persuade the United States Senate to come around to her way of thinking. A daunting task certainly, when you consider that each one that holds a seat in that great chamber has dexades of political experience...and she hasn't even questioned yet. In the meanwhile Xan the Man has to reconstitute the Slayer line if he's ever to have a hope of going after Hera and Vastia...
Oh, can anyone guess where the clones' next target will be?
