Well to be fair Xander never one to pay to much attention or he would have learned about the mana limit from his knowledge download.

And yes Willow is a little jealous, but more worried about Xander and his being a magnet for Demon chicks that want to kill him, and just trouble in general lol.

It's not a video game and he's the only one with the data info uploaded. Could you please have Willow/someone mold/influence the materia into little statues, so the barrier gem looks like a small shield and the fire like a fireball, etc?
You could go the hands-off route and explain that each green materia has its own unique cut size and facet pattern that didn't show up in the low-res game... But that is still an insane amount of memorization for the girls to go through and less useful in crisis.
Heh, while I think a full 3d mold/mod would be awesome a compromise would be text/graphical stamps/intaglio designs for each.

Nice ideas but not for this story, i do have some ideas as to the spells shape/casting times/etc. but for now Xander will be the only one with the knowledge.

To us the world of final Fantasy may be a game but to Xander Clouds world is a mere alternate dimension away.

But for now as for the way the spells look it will be similar to FF7 but less so, that is until i reveal the Lvling system for all the Materia, but Willow and the others will be along soon :)
