Thus opens up interesting possibilities : who built the alter, and who summoned the things, and are Maggie's old minions looking for new jobs ? Overall, this is a solid ending to the story, with a pretty good fight scene (albeit a short one, but that's to be expected). My only quibble would be with the overusage of the Buffyspeakage - when you add "age" to a noun like "shape" or "bend" you just get a longer noun, which means you're saying exactly the same thing but taking longer to do it.

Another interesting addition to a great series. You've made Buffy work out surprisingly well in the military -- and I love how she keeps meeting crazy-awesome people. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Fantastic resolution to Buffy's kicking demon ass. I have never seen the Ambrose Bierce story before and what a chilling story it is! The adaption is well done.
I just finished reading/rereading your whole series. All I can say is: Wow! Wonderful plots, amazing characterization, and a fine knowledge of US military equipment and culture, you write darn near perfect stories, fanfic or otherwise. While I think your other stories are darn good, this series is your best and it is just too fraking cool! I cannot wait to read your next story.

A dislocated hip? Ouch, I bet that really hurts :( At least Haviland seems impressed, he must have really not known much about what he was getting into. Maybe he can transfer to Planning and get a good boss like Dutch too :)

Quote: Buffy Air was flying again! Love it! You and Dave Turner are two of my favourite authors on tth. I haven't yet recommended one of your stories but I will have to in near future check them out, so as to pick which one to rec. I recall there are some I liked a lot. This story could even end up being "the one", as it is so very humorous with some lovely military details.

Another great military Buffy story, and the perfect ending. Did you start with those in mind, or did it come once you'd picked the monster? Also cool to use such a classic (but sadly forgotten) story too as the crossover.
Comments from author:
The last line was a horrible pun I came up with as I was rereading some Ambrose Bierce last week.
