Review of chapter "Issue Three: "A Fateful Glance"" from JediKnight
Review:
Very nice job on this so far, I do look forward to reading more but it might be a better idea not to post more of this until you at least have volume 1 of "Rise of the Ultimates" complete.

Nice short chapter. Read your authors note and it I feel it does address the speed of the Xander Stark/Cordelia Frost connection. Builds nicely on the background of the two and fleshes out their history nicely. Good work.

Hmm, I guess this is good for character development, but I'm still rather looking forward to seeing the main story be updated.
Comments from author:
Most of my focus for this series is going to be on the main story. Touched by Destiny is meant to let me show little disconnected pieces of their past, without needing to try to work them into the story itself. I mostly write these little bits when inspiration strikes, rather than planning it.

Interesting, the romance you are Developing between Xander And Cordelia looks good. I'd suggest instead of a flashback, that you make the story of how they came to be together - back when they were younger - a proper chapter of its own. Develop it and flesh it out so we can see the foundations of their relationship.

Thank you for your comments man.

I will admit that I currently have two more chapters plotted for Touched by Destiny, by which I mean I actually have an idea of what to do for them. As I stated when I started with it, Touched by Destiny is in no particular chronological order, instead being bits and pieces, glimpses of their lives before Halloween. The first two were important as they showed critical points that they had to intervene to ensure their survival, as well as the critical points of ensuring their conception.

This works, I don't think you need to show the flashback. I think this shows enough.

I love this Series so far, can' wait for the next chapters to come for both stories.
Comments from author:
TY. If you haven't already, you read Origins, as Touched by Destiny is a side story to that. I'm working on the next issue of Origins at the moment, its just taking a while, and TbD is written step by step as I think of key points to show.

Review of chapter "Issue One: “In the Cradle art Heroes Made”" from AlecMcDowell
Review:
Alright, nice look at their births here. And Cordelia is definitely not a Chase, but is Xander Tony's kid too? I can't think of who a woman like Jessica might've run into to knock her up, but still might be interesting. I'm a sucker for real parents fic.
Comments from author:
Xander is Tony's kid, unfortunately. ElvenkingC and I DO have a real parents concept for Xander in the wings, but we are saving it until we complete a few volumes of Rise of the Ultimates. Their parentages do matter though. Xander will take on a new name eventually because he doesn't want to be related to his parents, Cordelia keeps the Chase name to spite her "father", and Oz is going to redeem something about his dad eventually.

All the chapters of Touched by Destiny will not be in chronological order though, as they are glimpses of critical moments where the higher beings adjusted the course of their lives to ensure they converged at the right point.

Here's a hint: In two of their cases, their conception was triggered by tiny manipulations on the part of those higher beings. And there is just so much more to reveal as the story goes on.
