Well, in the Journey Into Mystery comic run, kidLoki tried his hand at clearing his elder self's name, only to find out that he'd been set up to do all the dirty work, and reap none of the glory. On top of that, he ended up in a Limbo like dimension while his adult self will no doubt show up and start bugging his brother and the people of Earth all...over....again!!!!
Nevertheless, I like this story. It leaves out the Chitauri, Thanos and all the other crap that happened in the Avengers movie.
I like stories where Loki gets redeemed (after boatloads of hard work, mind you.)
The Loki from the Thor movie should be fairly amenable to redemption, especially if he can bug the crap out of people in the doing. He's a Trickster after all.
The one from the comic, at least the adult, doesn't want redemption in the least. He simply wanted to clean the slate (mostly so he can foul it up with all new sorts of mischief, mayhem and mendacity.)
I kind of feel sorry for kidLoki. He was cute, sweet, and totally devoted to his brother. Okay, he was also resentful because he'd been stuck with a mother that didn't listen, people that saw an easy target, and was stuck with a completely disloyal pair of pets; but on the whole, he wasn't all that bad.
It should be interesting to see what this story turns into.

Now that you finally have a chapter's worth of fic up, albeit spread over three chapters, I decided to drop in and give it a look. Nice to see someone remembering that Loki's of hrímþursar descent. I'm really hoping this isn't the opening shot of yet another Loki Gets Redeemed By Spending Time Around Some Nice Humans (Particularly a Girl) fic because that pretty much runs against a half-century of comic canon as well as Norse mythology, but I'll continue to read it until you give me a reason not to.
EDIT: Well, at least I know I can retract the rec and remove tracking. Thanks for being honest, at least. :)
Comments from author:
I'm still reading the comics, but I know that in the comics Loki can't be redeemed. In the movie canon, I'm with the side that says that Loki at the end of Thor can be redeemed, but that in the Avengers he's far too gone.
The fic was originally planned for a Crack Ship Big Bang (to put it simply, the colour green was my reason for starting to write the story) and as a self-imposed challenge to see if I can write this, so I fear that you're not really going to like this fic. Yes, it's a Loki Gets Redeemed Fic (well, something like that), sorry.
EDIT: I promise that I'll try to write one with an evil Loki after I read the comics and finish this.

I'm so excited for this fic. I've just gotten round to catching up with the Iron Man/Thor/Avengers filmverse, and I've got plot bunnies bouncing madly around in my brain, so it's absolutely brilliant to see someone else's take on this cross!
Hope to see more soon,

Thanks your review. I'll try to post the next chapter as soon as possible, and I look forward for those plot bunnies becoming fics, :) (From my point of view, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now part of the Jossverse since The Avengers, XD)
Yay new chapter. I love how they know who he is, and what he's done, but they still won't call Fury about him because, "Hey our family is always trying to kill each other" logic.

Scooby logic is the best logic, they even have one for destroying the world, xD

So Buffy and Dawn seem remarkably well informed about Asgardian politics. Did Thor spark up a friendship with some of the Slayers or something? Will he be coming to visit? Or will Buffy tell him his brother has turned up? I hope Buffy is not silly enough to leave Loki at the castle with her sister. He is a being of vast power and being around him is *not* safe. Also they have no reason to trust him or to believe he has good intentions. I wonder if Willow could build a magical prison strong enough to contain him? Also I had some difficulty reading this chapter because of strange word choice and other errors. I would suggest that you get a fluent English speaker to read over the chapters before you post, if you can.
Comments from author:
Buffy and Dawn don't know that much about Asgard politics, and what they know is simply because Anya (in the MCU, she was born around a century *before* Thor and Loki) told them or because Buffy was around for what happened in New Mexico (Should I write that story?).
No, Buffy is leaving. Also, this Dawn is trained (Buffy got tired of her getting kidnapped and she has more responsibilities besides taking care of her sister) and living in a castle full of slayers and witches.
About the errors: would you have a problem helping?
“He tried to kill his own brother,” said the blond woman. ----- Um, how did she know that? Was she watching the movie?
Comments from author:
Dawn laughed, but stopped when she remembered last May. “Are you going to call Fury?” [...] “I guess not,” said Dawn. “You’re still angry about the walking armor?” ----- More like in this universe Buffy was in the movie.
I am intrigued, no idea where this is going but it looks good so far. Also, walking armor = golem thing from Thor film + wonky trans-dimensional time dilation shenanigans?
Can't wait to see more of this one!
Comments from author:
I'm glad that you're liking it so far. Let's hope I don't disappoint.
Yep, the walking armor is the Destroyer and Loki is there because of the portal not working like it was supposed to (he's lucky for being alive).

So several interesting things i noticed: 1. this takes place in the Avengers Universe 2. Dawn knows that Loki is an Alien and 3. Dawn totally rocks as you've written her. I like it when authors give Dawn a backbone and make her able to stand up for herself. I like that she has at least some control over her innate magic. I would like to see her being either immortal (being able to live forever unless her body is completely destroyed) because of the Key or really long lived and slow to age. I think it would be interesting to see Loki maybe helping Dawn with her magic as well. I love the whole idea for this story and I really hope you post a new chapter soon!

I'm glad that you like how I'm writing Dawn, I wasn't sure about her, :)
And, yes, it takes place in the MCU, as I'm still not familiar enough with the comics. (And it's easier to deal with the Norse Gods and the myths if they're actually aliens instead of their comic version).
