Review of chapter "Out of Balance" from brokenangel
Review:
Personally, I think you should have Xander reunite with the Doctor. The Doctor has had so many friends end up dead or lost it would be a nice change for him to have a member of his past help him with his loneliness to some degree.

Review of chapter "Out of Balance" from ZaziTheBeast
Review:
Loving the story so far. I'm wondering when Xander is going to meet his version of the Void. It's pretty much a given he'll show up because if I remember correctly the Void is a manifestation of the Sentry's negative emotions. Granted he's rather simple to take care of once Robert gets control of his emotions and acknowledges the Void is just a part of him but he always comes back. Though the whole Time Wars part might of had Xander finally come to terms with that aspect of the powers and reigning in the Void permanently...I would really love to see Xander laying the smackdown on the PTB or the Wolf, Ram, and Hart with Void tendrils though.
Comments from author:
I've been having difficulty with the Void. On the one hand, Xander is far better mentally balanced than Robert, on the other, he's been through far more. The way I'm doing it is that the Void is a parasitic psychic entity that latches onto people like Robert and plays on their darker side. In Xander, it's harder, because of his White Knight syndrome. But without a Void persona, there needs to be balance... Let's just say that a certain incorporeal being gets a new form as the Void, at least temporarily.

Most of the struggle with Xander, however, is him trying not to give in to a god complex and detach himself from humanity, like the Doctor.

Review of chapter "Out of Balance" from CageFire
Review:
Great story so far. I wonder where this will go. Although from the end of this chapter, I might not like it. That's the problem with making the main character more powerful than any character in the series. The authors always have to invent something that can match them. It gets a little annoying actually.

I mean if he can travel between the marvel universe and the Buffy one, why can't he find other universes to go to and fight enemies there. Heck even if it only takes one chapter per universe you could probably keep it going for quite a while. Frankly, I'd rather watch him totally crush a hundred different weak enemies than have one ridiculously powerful one that he has to struggle against.

I mean there's something to be said for the struggle, but it gets old after like a hundred stories like that. Also, after a certain level of power it becomes less dramatic, and more like "Oh come on and win already, he's like the most powerful being in existence and it's been half a dozen chapters and this fight is /still/ going on with this /one/ guy?" I think it kinda got that way towards the end of the dragonball/z/gt series, where it was like "Oh come on these guys can blow up planets with their pinky without really trying and they're still getting beat back?" I mean at the end of DBZ they were /officially/ stronger than the kais(gods) of the universe. By a large margin to the point where their jaws were literally dropping.
Comments from author:
Something does come along that can go toe to toe with him, but that's only brief. No, in this case, I am of the opinion that the greatest battle is within.

And yes, he can find other universes.

Review:
"Go be invulnerable in New Jersey," Xander said, whirling him around by his ankle and hurling him northwards.

Great line.

One complaint, and I have this about canon as well, destroying the balls was mind numbingly stupid.
Comments from author:
Xander did it because he was really pissed off. In canon, it wasn't made clear whether merely taking them away would have worked.

Review of chapter "Out of Balance" from warslick
Review:
I found it interesting in how he has learned to cope with the powers and how the Buffyverse has been changed by his action yet in many ways stayed the same. I would like to see more of the Watchman's interaction with other universes. I do wonder what kind of crossover you are going for in the main verse as you did mention that there were aliens there and made it sound like they would be interacting with earth soon.

The only problem I have with this story is the notion of balance. There is no balance in this story, its basically a reality one event from a collapse into darkness. Its overrun with demons, vampires and pretty much every type of human scum there is. Even the supposed good guys, the council and the PTB, do not seem to really be good but were all about preserving there power base. The only major groups fighting for the good seem to be the Scoobies and angels group. Even with the destruction of a large majority of the vampires the balance still sees to be tilted heavily in the favor of evil, just less overwhelming than before.
Comments from author:
I'll see what I can do. There'll be an HP crossover coming up soon.

It says there is balance. It never says the balance is fair. Besides, Xander is by now a planet buster in terms of power.

Good. The First Evil may try to corrupt the Slayer Line.

Can Xander change the nature of the Slayer Empowerment?
Comments from author:
He could, but for reasons about to become obvious, he won't be able to.

My favorite part is Loki undoing what happened to Spidey. Have they really undone that abomination in the comics yet?

Not yet unfortunately.
