Review of chapter "Chapter Seven." from DieselDriver
Review:
I don't know what the new ones are like but back when I was in the Air Farce, er, Force, I had to ride in an A model C-130 from Kansas to Panama. Really, really glad I had ear plugs. Noisy, cold, vibrating son of a gun. On the other hand, we got there just fine and I got to ride through the landing in the cockpit. Very cool!
Comments from author:
Very much like when I flew from the then West Germany to Northern Ireland with the added hazard of British Army haversack rations!

Cheers,
D.

Review:
Faith is the new "Unknown Soldier". Not for long I bet.

Another action-packed story, but then that's what I've come to expect from Faith and you. Also a terrible description of what some people do in the name of their God...
Comments from author:
Again, I couldn't do much else with the story because of stuff I'd written that took place afterwards.

Without god, good people will still do good things and bad people will still do bad things...if you want good people to do bad things you need a god...although I think that should be 'religion' not 'god'.

Also I think Great Cthulhu can safely be put in the BAD column.

Cheers,
D.

Good work on the fic. I'm especially looking forward to "We Will All Go Together When We Go." It's one of my favorite songs by Lehrer. Come to think of it, he really doesn't have any bad ones.

Thanks for the series.
Comments from author:
Thank-you, and I agree on the Lehrer comment!

Cheers,
D.

Nice bit of diversion on Faith's part, with the pilot. In time, she'll become an expert.

Another great story, fast paced for the most part and very much like the black hawk down genre. Looking forward to the next installment in this series.

Review of chapter "Chapter Seven." from PATM
Review:
Four to six weeks? After this story I am primed for more.
Comments from author:
Well there's a Dawn story that I've been meaning to post for ages (about a year now!). Then there's 'We'll all go together when we go', a story inspired by the Tom Lehrer song of the same title (look it up if you don't know it, it'll give a clue as to what the story's about). Then there's one Fita story to edit, another to finish and edit and yet another to re-write!

Fita has grown like Topsy since I started and I seem to be writing little else at the moment, the story ideas just keep coming. I just hope people keep reading then.

Thanks,
D.

Review:
How disappointing! It’s the end of the story.

I have enjoyed all your stories, but particularly Faith in the Army: it’s a splendid series, and this story leads nicely into the following stories.

I am not a great fan of organised religion. Too many people have died or come to grievous harm in the name of whichever deity is being worshipped. Faith’s reaction seems a particularly apposite response to the problem.

A couple of points: at the end of Chapter 5 shouldn’t it be back pedalling (as in applying the back-pedal brake on a bicycle perhaps)? Back peddling somehow calls up a picture of a pedlar calling at the back door with a tray of goodies for sale to the mistress of the house or her maid. Also, near the beginning of Chapter 6 there is white-ish: I looked it up, and whitish is an English word in good standing.

No criticism is intended. Leave No One Behind is an admirably well-written story.

Please apply yourself to We Will All Go Together … – I am very keen to read it soonest.
Comments from author:
No I like it when people point stuff out like that, hopefully I won't make the same mistake again. You only learn from having your mistakes pointed out to you.

I'm not a great fan of religion myself and although I try not to preach but my dislike does come through in my writing. Generally its a topic I try to keep away from.

I'm glad you enjoy FITA, its the series I'm most proud of and it all started from a one-shot!

Thanks loads,
D.

Review:
Wow, excellent chapter, congratulations =D!!.
Faith was an awesome warrior helping the downed helo pilot, too bad nobody was around to see her, too bad.
And now to basic we go =D!!. On to the sequel, see ya!!!.
Comments from author:
The next FITA story posted will in fact be the sequel to 'Foothold' the other FITA prequels will come after that, sorry they're not finished yet.

Cheers,
D.

I trust Faith gets a medal or two for that one.
Comments from author:
Well you see that would spoil 'It makes a fella proud...' where she picked up her 'first' medals. I sorry but she's going to be the unsung hero in this one.

Cheers,
D.

A well written Faith in a frantic last stand. And a nice surprise for Riley to learn there are others in the hunt that he can't identify.

Great as usual! I was getting an opening chapter of Starship Troopers vibe from the city fight, not a bad vibe at all.
Comments from author:
Starship Troopers (the book not the film) is a cross over I'd like to do if I can think of a plotline for it.

Thanks,
D.

Another good story. And everything's better with Tom Lehrer!

I would like to see the 'Faith in basic' part as a story. Someone's going to have to learn not to jump *over* the climbing obstacles. :-)
Comments from author:
Faith in Basic will be alone some time soon.

Cheers,
D.

Review:
A great story, with gripping action scenes and not only capturing the feel of Blackhawk Down, but also the beginnings of your version of Faith. She's still quite recognisably Faith, but also different. Any chance of a "Faith in basic training" fic?

Just as well our girl was on the scene. If it had only been Riley, his team would probably have shown up just in time to face Cthulu.

Thanks for writing this.
Comments from author:
The Faith in Basic Training fic would be finished by now if I hadn't come down with a really bad cold! Hopefully I can finish it next week and then start on the long editing process.

This was what I was aiming at; a Faith who is recognisably Faith but different, glad you like her.

Cheers,
D.
